How to work with Data Import and Export - SAP Service Cloud Version 2

In this video  we are going to see how data is imported  and exported in the service cloud system. You can use Data Import  and Export for the following: Import data from a legacy system  into SAP Service Cloud. For example,  you can transfer all the existing data  from any Cloud CRM system  to SAP Service Cloud. Import operational data  from third-party systems  into SAP Service Cloud. Import data that is manually maintained  in a CSV file (data file)  into SAP Service Cloud. For example,  customer and product information  collected from a campaign  and maintained in a data file. Let´s see how it is processed in a demo. After accessing the All Settings tab,  there is a Data Import and Export tile.  Within this tile  the Monitor hyperlink is a single-entry point  to access the tool.  The table displays the tasks  of the logged in user.  It is also possible to change the filter  to see all the tasks. By clicking on the Download Template hyperlink a side window appears. Here you can choose from following parameters: Entity, for which you want to export the data, File type, Complete entity toggle button,  for if you want to import the root node and all its sub-entities. If it is disabled  only the root node going to be imported. After the steps mentioned above,  you can download the template. You can now browse for the data file,  which is in a zip format.  You can export data  with the same parameters  as when importing them.  There is one difference  which is an Apply Filter tile  within the selection criteria.  This filter is based on the values  available for the respective entities. You can either select Define Conditions  to add specific filter conditions  or add condition group for adding further conditions. You can also select all fields  or make a selection of column fields  that need to be downloaded  as part of the export file. After selecting export data  the system displays the status of the export. Clicking on the hyperlink  downloads the data in a .zip file. You can also monitor  the status of your export or import.  Completed With Errors  indicates that the task is completed  but with errors or warnings.  Error and warning files are generated  and the task moves to Finished.  Errors or warning generated, if any,  are available for download. Tasks older than 30 days  are automatically removed from Monitor,  irrespective of the task status. In cases where you want to retain information beyond one month  (such as external keys  used for an entity during import),  it is recommended  to maintain local copies of such information.
