Note that it is also possible to create links to WebDynpro or SAP GUI for HTML applications, but you can only open single items in such applications.</div></div>

Implementing Cross-App Navigation Control for Fiori Applications (“Open In” Capability) in SAP S/4HANA Asset Management

Welcome to the micro-learning series on SAP S/4HANA Asset Management. In this video, I will show you how to implement a custom cross -application navigation for Fiori applications. The BAdI "Cross-Application Navigation Control for Fiori applications" allows you to implement and display custom cross -application links in the following SAP Fiori applications: "Find maintenance orders", and "Manage maintenance notifications and orders". The custom cross-application navigation allows you to open selected items in other SAP S/4HANA applications, as well as in third-party solutions. When you create an implementation, the additional quick -action "Open-In" becomes available in the table toolbar of the application. The business users can use this quick action to display a drop-down menu with link to the target application, that you have defined in the implementation. You can implement the BAdI with “Custom Logic” application The BAdI is available for two business context values: "asset management - maintenance order" and "maintenance notification". The BAdI is also filter enabled. After publishing, click Open Editor to write a custom code. SAP provides a sample code where all the parameters are described. These parameters allows you to define the available target applications, link texts and the system behavior of the cross -application navigation according to your requirements. Let's open the application "Manage Maintenance Notifications and orders". Since the BAdI-implementation  is active, the quick action "Open-In" is available in the table toolbar. Here you can see the list of the custom cross-application navigations. If the user is not authorized for a target application, the respective link will not be visible. The cross-application navigation label is derived from the target mapping title. The order of appearance can be sorted inside the BAdI-implementation. It is also possible to assign an individualized cross -application navigation label by using the optional "Action Name" parameter. You can translate the individualized label by using custom code list from custom-reusable elements. The cross-application navigation allows you to navigate between SAP S/4HANA applications and also applications that are not part of S/4HANA for example, SAP Asset Performance Management, or other third-party solutions. If you want to implement a custom navigation to an application outside of SAP S/4HANA, make sure that the relevant Fiori launchpad system landscape can pass multiple values of a parameters to the relevant application in the correct format. If this is not the case, you can use the BAdI for mapping between business domains to transform the parameters for the relevant application. Thank you for watching.
