Inserting New Products Using Excel in SAP Commerce Cloud

Hello, I'm Adam and in this video I'll show you how to use Microsoft Excel to create new products and then import them into the SAP Commerce Cloud back office product. Cockpit. For that, I will download the Excel template file from the back office product cockpit. Let's log in. In the back office product cockpit, I'll switch to the search and browse view. I'll click the export button and select Download Excel Template. The pop up window lets me add classification attributes to the included attributes of the current export process. I can select one or more of them and then click the add button. For this video though, let's stick to the basics and not add any additional attributes. All right. In any case, once I have decided on which attributes to include, I'll click export. Now that the Excel template file has been downloaded, let's open it. Please note the available sheets in the file. You'll need them depending on what kinds of products you would like to import into the product. Cockpit. For this video, I decided to keep it simple. So I'm ignoring product variants altogether and will only include regular products. Let's take a look at the columns. There are only two columns on the sheet catalogue version and article number. That's because those two are the only mandatory attributes in order to create a valid product. By the way, same goes when you create a product in the product cockpit. Also, please note the asterisks. They indicate that those two columns are mandatory. Personally, I don't like creating products without a name which should be stored in the identifier column. So let's add one. Okay. The template already includes all the available attributes and a neat dropdown list. Please note that some of the attributes are localised. I'll pick identifier English. I'll also add another column for approval. I'll fill in some values now for approval. I'll put check because someone should probably add some more details like pictures to the product before we'll push it to the online catalogue version. Do you see the info on how to format the first attribute? In my case, that's electronics product catalogue staged. Now for a quick article number. It has to be unique by the way. And lastly, let's give a name to the product. How about Ultimate Camera 1000? I could add more products below, but for now let's leave it at that. All right. Time to save and import our product. Now back to the product cockpit. I'll click the Import Excel button. And now it's asking me for the file location. I can drag and drop it or find it on my hard drive. All right, that's it. Just one more. Click on import. And the product is being imported. The process button will show when it's done. Since I didn't provide any category information, I should find the product under Uncategorised products. There it is. This is the end of this tutorial. Thanks for watching.
