Integrating SAP Commerce Cloud with Emarsys Customer Engagement

The Emarsys for SAP Commerce Cloud plugin connects your store and automatically syncs customers, events and products to Emarsys. Once you have onboarded, you will be able to build standard e-commerce automations faster and easier by using Emarsys Tactics as well as personalization and segmentation features. For example, you can react to customer reviews or abandoned cart events with these Tactics. Let's see how you can start the integration. Once the SAP Commerce Cloud integration was enabled, make sure to check if your system complies with the requirements of the Add-on. Your Commerce Cloud version must be at least 2105. Check the full list of requirements in the Help Portal. Then, in the Emarsys platform, you will need to go to Add-ons, SAP Commerce Cloud Integration. You will find there an auto-generated pair of username and password needed later to create an administrator in SAP Commerce Cloud. Switch to the SAP Commerce Backoffice Administration Cockpit and use these credentials to create a new user under User, Employees. Use the username in the Create New Employee dialog and use the Emarsys password when updating the password of the new ID. Go to Groups in GENERAL - PROPERTIES and remove the employeegroup membership and assign the new user to the existing admingroup. In the Emarsys platform, finish the user creation by entering by entering the URL for the SAP Commerce Backofficepublic endpoint, by removing "backoffice" from its end and clicking "Test and Connect". After finishing the onboarding process, first turn on the contact syncing by going to the Contacts tab within SAP Commerce Cloud integration. If you want to use a Emarsys platform only to send marketing emails, (and not transactional messages), we recommend to sync only registered customers to keep clean contact database on Emarsys and avoid multiple contacts with same email address. Also check "Sync consent" and provide the necessary data to correctly match SAP consents to Emarsys opt-in statuses. Continue with enabling real time-event synchronization to receive data of the following events for logged-in users: cart, customer review, order lifecycle events, customer registration, opt-in status. Then, go to the Products tab to enable product syncing but make sure that you have Web Extend enabled by now. Select your product catalogs and enter your product images domain and the product URL template so images are matched to the correct product ID. Once you've done all the previous, you're ready to activate a Tactic. Let's look at Real-time Abandoned Cart as an example. You can reach SAP Commerce Cloud plugin related Tactics under Automation > Tactics > SAP Customer Experience Tactics. You can use this Tactic to remind your customers about unfinished purchases. The updated card event is synchronized from SAP Commerce Cloud. This was only one from the eight currently available Tactics to try. For more information on the SAP Commerce Cloud Integration, see the Emarsys Help Portal. I hope that you enjoyed this session and thank you for your attention!
