Introducing Quote Negotiation in B2B Accelerator for SAP Commerce Cloud

Hi, my name is Tomasz Papiernik. In this video, I’m going to demonstrate the quote negotiation process for the B2B accelerator. This is a typical buyer-initiated B2B quote negotiation process.  This video demonstration is going to showcase this process using the B2B accelerator and the Assisted Services module.  Here, I have enabled the B2B Powertools storefront extension, which can be used with the B2B accelerator to showcase a reference B2B storefront.  This fully functional storefront contains all of the sample data necessary to showcase the available B2B functionality, which includes quote negotiation.  The sample data includes reference B2B customer, employees and sales organization staff that I will use in this demonstration.  You can find lists of all of the sample users with their roles and login information in the help.sap.com documentation for the Commerce B2B accelerator.  Alejandro Navarro is a B2B customer for the Rustic Hardware organization.  I’m going to log in as him to demonstrate how to submit a quote negotiation request.  I’ll add a product to my cart and then click Checkout to go to my cart.  Note that on the checkout page in the B2B Accelerator, we have a Request a Quote button.  You can configure the threshold required to initiate a quote request with a property setting in your local.properties file.  The default is $25000, but for this demonstration, I’ve set this property to $5000.  If I click on Request a Quote with the cart total less than $5000, I will see a warning in yellow that tells me what the minimum quote threshold is.  It still takes me to the “Edit Quote” screen, where I have the ability to update the product quantity before submitting.  If I don’t update my quantity before trying to submit, the warning background text becomes red to indicate an error, and it will not let me submit the request for a quote until I’ve increased the cart total to the threshold.  Quotes are saved and don’t have to be submitted right away, but I’m going to go ahead and update the quantity of the product in Alejandro’s cart so that the cart total is greater than $5000.  I’ll fill out the name and, optionally, the description field and click Submit Quote.  It asks me to confirm submission of the quote request.  The “My Quotes” page is now displayed where I can see the quote that was just submitted and its status.  I can click on its name to view the quote details.  The sales rep can manage quotes from within the storefront using the Assisted Service module, or ASM.  Alternatively, sales quotes can be managed in either Backoffice Administration Cockpit or Customer Support Cockpit, which contains a deep link to the storefront ASM.  Quote negotiation is between the B2B Customer and sales staff in charge of the that organization unit. The sample data has provided some sales organization employees. Darrin Hesser is a member of the sales employee group, Quebec sales unit, and assigned to both the Services East and Services West units. Since Alejandro is in the Services East unit, Darrin is one of his sales representatives.  I’ll now log in as this sales representative into the storefront ASM mode.  As you can see, I just add an HTML parameter to the URL to switch into ASM mode.  The screen will now display a banner across the top that indicates I’m in ASM mode. I’ll log in as Darrin Hesser.  There are multiple ways that I can pull up a customer to access the quote. I could use the quick search name, email, and cart or order ID fields. I can also go to Customers and select My Organization Customers to see a list of customers that are in Darrin’s assigned organizations.  Here is Alejandro, so I’ll click on his name, which will start a customer session for him.  Now I can go to Alejandro’s account to find his quote requests.  I’ll open the quote request he just sent and view its details.  Note that as the sales representative, the quote details page looks different than when I was logged in as Alejandro.  The quote status is different, and I now have a couple of additional buttons, Edit Quote and Submit Quote.  To provide my quote, I click on Edit Quote.  There is a Discount link under the cart subtotal that I click on to provide my quoted discount.  I have the option of providing a discount by percentage, fixed amount, or by directly adjusting the cart subtotal. But as you will see, all of the fields stay in sync with each other when I modify one.  I’ll have Darrin offer Alejandro a 10% discount on his order.  I can now see the quote discount applied under the cart subtotal, and I can always go back and edit that discount before submitting.  No one else can see my changes to the quote until I submit.  I can optionally add an expiration date for this quote.  Darrin is going to force Alejandro to make a decision about this before tomorrow.  If the total amount of the order had been above a threshold, in this case $75000, then the proposed quote discount would need to be approved by a seller approver. You can configure this threshold with a property in your local.properties file.  I’m going to submit Darrin’s quote, which requires a confirmation.  I’ll end the customer session and sign out of ASM.  I’ll log back in as Alejandro  and go back to the quote.  The status is now “Vendor Quote”. I can see the offered discount.  I also have some new options available to me.  I can choose to accept the quote and checkout,  edit the quote which will trigger another round of vendor-side editing and potentially approval, or cancel the quote.  Alejandro is satisfied with the quote discount, so I’ll go ahead and Accept and Checkout and confirm.  I’ll just do a quick check out here.  Now Alejandro’s order has been placed.  I can view the quote discount and see the quote ID listed in the Order Summary information. If I click on the quote ID, it takes me to the quote details page, where now I can see a Requote button.  If I click Requote, it creates a new cart filled with the same product and quantity and kicks off the new quote request step for it.  That wraps up this video on B2B Quote Negotiation.
