Introducing Skills Based Hiring and Recommended Qualifications in SAP Fieldglass

The job posting object in SAP Fieldglass is the cornerstone of the contingent workflow between a buyer company and its supply base. Clearly defined job postings communicate specific requirements to suppliers, helping them to submit appropriate candidates and resources to meet the buyer-tenant needs. Historically, the success of a job posting was driven by the level of written detail reflected in the requisition. Yet in today's rapidly evolving job market, organizations increasingly prioritize skills over traditional job descriptions. Skills-based hiring allows managers to view and select qualifications when identifying requirements for a job posting, removing the stress and difficulty of having to capture these key elements in a traditionally written or outlined description. Through advancements in AI, SAP Fieldglass also offers an additional feature within the skills-based hiring process by suggesting recommended qualifications for job postings. This feature leverages machine learning to extract and suggest relevant qualifications based on the job title and description, helping hiring managers quickly identify essential skills. This micro -learning course will review the skills -based hiring configuration within the Fieldglass application, as well as guide you through the process of reviewing the recommended qualifications functionality to improve the job posting creation process. By understanding the key benefits of these settings and functionality, you will be able to enhance the job posting creation, significantly increase requisition details, and more aptly outline key requirements for a desired position. The customization that the functionality provides can help suppliers submit appropriate candidates and job seekers that only match these additional qualifications. The contingent hiring process can be complex and time -consuming, as it requires a high level of detail and description when outlining specific requirements to define an open position and identify the necessary qualifications for a job. Skills within the total workforce ecosystem continue to be a priority, and there has been a rise of quiet hiring when customers want to acquire new skills and capabilities without adding new full-time employees. Companies are moving from filling short-term skills gaps to predicting long-term business needs and engaging in strategic workforce planning to prepare for the future. For customers prioritizing skill sets as opposed to job description fit when recruiting candidates, skills-based hiring allows managers to view and select qualifications when identifying their requirements for a particular job posting, minimizing configuration requirements through the creation of a new skills-specific contingent type, where future skills-based hiring enhancements can be tied to. Skills -based hiring works directly together with qualification functionality already available in Fieldglass. Buyers can create libraries filled with specific skills or qualifications, ranging from having expertise in a particular software or program to having specific years of experience, certifications, or levels of defined aptitude or work history. By activating the Enable Skills-Based Hiring flag and making it visible on the Contingent Type Admin object, the associated qualifications for the job postings tied to that type are now moved to the Core Details section of the job posting creation phase. When this flag is not enabled, these attributes will remain in the Augment section. Once a user accepts the appropriate consent, the qualification recommendations will appear as part of the job posting creation process. The Recommend Qualifications AI feature further simplifies this process by automatically suggesting relevant skills based on the job title and description of a position. An administrator for WorkingNet, Anja, needs to help WorkingNet in updating the job posting for a financial analyst, but would like to ensure that certain qualifications and defined skills are part of the position and posted requirement. She decides to utilize skills -based hiring and enable the AI and machine learning feature Recommend Qualifications on the job posting to include specific qualifications from WorkingNet's established library. When logging into the SAP Fieldglass application, Anja first navigates to the Admin page and then selects the contingent type. Knowing that the standard contingent type is associated to the Financial Analyst job posting template, Anja selects this. Scrolling down in the Type settings, Anja sees the setting labeled Enabled Skills -Based Hiring unchecked. She selects this condition for the contingent type and leaves the qualification setting as visible on the type as well. After enabling the flag, Anja selects Continue to progress through the other settings on the contingent type. Using the Quick Create Admin button, Anja selects the option to create a job posting for worker and chooses the listed template for the financial analyst position. Landing on the detail step of the job posting creation process, she sees the Qualification section on the job posting template, now appearing directly after the template description. This allows her to add multiple skills and qualifications to the central part of the job posting or to choose the AI feature of having SAP Fieldglass recommend qualifications for the posting as well. She selects a few suggested qualifications and chooses Add. She then completes the job posting creation process and submits the finalized requisition in the system. Before utilizing skills-based hiring and implementing the Recommend Qualifications feature, consider the following. A company must ensure that the skills extraction company configuration is enabled for the tenant. Since machine learning leverages a buyer's established qualification library, the company must either utilize the SuccessFactor skill -attribute library integration or maintain a custom field glass qualifications library. The organization must actively utilize qualifications on job postings. The contingent type associated with job posting templates and downstream job postings must also reflect the skills hiring and recommended qualification settings. These updated hiring configurations and AI features advance written descriptions and outlined requirements toward a more enhanced focus on concise, detailed, individual abilities that candidates must possess and deliver against. Some additional benefits are time efficiency, automatically suggesting qualifications, saving time for hiring managers. Accuracy, ensuring that job postings include all necessary qualifications, leading to better candidate matches. Consistency, standardizing the qualification process across job postings, promoting a more uniform hiring experience. Strategic Planning – Shifting Focus from Filling Short-Term Skills Gaps to Long-Term Workforce Planning through Identifying Critical Skills and Capabilities By understanding how this feature works and considering key implementation factors, you can effectively utilize these configurations to streamline your organization's hiring process and support strategic workforce planning. Thank you.
