Key Workspaces for Administrators in SAP SuccessFactors Incentive Management

In this video, I'll introduce you to some of the key work spaces for admins in SAP Commissions. Let's get started! As an administrator, one of your tasks is to create, distribute, and track acceptance of documents, such as the compensation plan document. What is the compensation plan document? A compensation plan document contains information that is important to the participant, such as the sales rep, about their compensation agreement for the year, including the participants commission rate, bonus amount, quota, et cetera. With the plan communicator, compensation administrators can manage the creation and distribution process of such documents through SAP Commissions. There are three sections to plan communicator: documents, distributions, and distribution tracking.  In Documents, SAP Commissions provides a few standard document templates. As the administrator, you can create more templates to best meet your company's business needs. When creating a document template, keep in mind that the dates selected are the dates of the document is visible to the participant. This is the document workspace where you will create the document. You have two options, Plan or Other. If you as the administrator want to send out a document that was already created as an attachment, you can select Other. If you want to create a document using the compensation information that is part of an existing plan in SAP Commissions,  you would select Plan. The most common documents that an administrator will create are compensation plan documents and terms and conditions. Distributions is how you send the document that you created in the document workspace. You can add a document in the Documents field and type the asterisk (*) to select a document or documents that you want to add to the distribution. You can add up to five documents. You can also create distributions with specific workflow settings and link them to various documents. The distribution tracking function allows you to easily keep track of distributed documents. You can view all distributions that have already been sent in this workspace. The tracking displays details when the document was sent, who it was sent to or assigned to, the acceptance status and the acceptance date. At the end of the month, your task as an administrator is to run a pipeline. This is the Pipelines workspace where you can perform a pipeline run.  A pipeline run calculates compensation. You can communicate the listed results data via dashboards, reports, and other workspaces. When you run the pipeline, you will update the dashboards. As an administrator, you can configure the payee dashboards in this workspace. As the administrator, you are responsible for managing the disputes process. SAP Commissions provides you with a series of standard disputes. These are the most commonly used dispute forms. Usually end users will either submit a dispute in regard to a bonus or deposit payout. You can also create a new dispute form and customise it to meet your business needs. In dispute tracking, you can see which disputes have been submitted. You can click any of the items under the view column to review the disputes details. As an administrator, you can also submit a dispute.  If you have full administrative rights to the system, you have the ability to modify the field names and objects within SAP Commissions under Preferences. There are three main options under Preferences: Customizations, System Preferences, and User Preferences. The Customizations workspace allows you the ability to customize certain fields to reflect your specific business need. For example, you can hide or reveal objects. Change the name of existing fields, and mark fields as personally identifiable information, or PII. Use System Preferences to set certain preferences that apply to all users in the system. For example, you can set audit log retention days or set a payment threshold among other settings that are available in this workspace. User Preferences allows you to set and manage specific default preferences, such as setting a default business unit or setting a preference as to whether or not the user would like a prompt before a record is deleted. These settings pertain to your own user account and will not apply to other users. That's it for now.
