Leveraging SAP S/4HANA Customer Care & RIG Offerings – PET 2026

Hello and welcome. In this video, I will summarize how SAP S/4HANA Customer Care and RIG Team help you to succeed with S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition, especially when you are implementing, upgrading or adopting innovations, including SAP Business AI. Before starting, let me quickly share our disclaimer and mention that the information in this presentation is confidential and may not be disclosed without the permission of SAP. I am glad to present in this video what our Customer Care team is doing and how we help our customers with our different offering. My name is Franziska Rupp and I am working as a Senior Product Specialist for S/4HANA Cloud and I am part of the SAP S/4HANA Customer Care Regional Implementation Group. Let's kick things off with a brief overview of our Customer Care and Regional Implementation Program. I will then walk you through the key offerings we provide for SAP S/4HANA private cloud customers and implementation partners. Finally, I will share practical insights and lessons learned from our customer and partner engagements, along with the key trends and current challenges we are seeing in Cloud ERP transformation projects. Our program overview. Who are we? SAP S/4HANA Customer Care and Regional Implementation Group, in short RIC, are a global team of SAP S/4HANA experts representing the SAP development organization. What we do? We support adoption of innovations in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition through direct support for selected projects and indirect enablement for the ecosystem we are knowledge sharing like blogs and events. How we work Each engagement includes a named SAP expert who regularly aligns with the customer team, implementation partner, and SAP stakeholder to address product questions and issues. We collaborate closely with other SAP roles and operate complementary to SAP services and support teams. Our focus is on innovations, both functional innovations and technical or methodology innovations. innovations, for example system upgrades or complex SAP S/4HANA implementation projects. Our engagements are structured, expert-led and free of charge, designed to accelerate successful outcomes and feed learnings back to the improved product, documentation and support. How we support customers hybris the executive summary of all our RIG offerings. Four layers that you can use depending on where you are in the journey. The first one is our customer care program. Like already said, we support during a go-live, an upgrade or innovation project, Regular remote interaction across the project The link to apply is on the slide or in the Influence portal But more information will follow on my next slide Another offering that we have are early adopter care programs For specific innovations related to SAP S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition Like Universal Parallel Accounting, Green Ledger and S/4HANA Service You can apply for one of these early adopter care programs in case you are adopting one of these innovations. Another offering that we have are our key insight sessions and our bootcamp. This is valid before, during or also after the go live. It includes the one week, 10 steps to clean core bootcamp and also one to two hour insight sessions on innovation adoption and upgrades. Another offering that we have are our self-service learning assets, like RIC expert blogs and hands-on SAP learning courses for technical and also for the functional audience. So you can pick the engagement intensity that you really need, from self-service to structured sessions to hands-on project support. All these offerings are totally free of charge and complementary to SAP service and support offerings. Let's have a closer look on our first layer, our Customer Care Program. Like that, it's a free SAP program that connects your project to a named SAP S/4HANA expert from our team and, when needed, the Product Development Network. How we help? We complement your implementation partner and SAP support by bringing best practice guidance and helping unblock product questions or issues through regular virtual touch points. Who can apply? Any customer with an SAP S/4HANA Cloud private edition contract can apply. The capacity is limited with priority for innovation -focused projects. You can apply via email to s4h-customer-care at sap.com. We are looking forward to receive your application. But how do we really help in practice? To make it more concrete for you, let me give you some real examples from our customer engagements for a better understanding. So some examples from real engagements with customers. For example, we helped with removing unnecessary technical prerequisites through the product management alignment, clarifying on compatibility-packed timelines and answering roadmap or maintenance questions that are not yet documented, and with delivering expert-to-expert sessions for conversion and also for upgrades. So the outcome of our engagements are faster decisions, fewer surprises, and better access to SAP expertise while partners in SAP support retain their standard roles. Below are also some customer references that you can check out for our customer care program. We provide more information about our SAP early adopter care programs for different SAP innovations related to S/4HANA Private Cloud Edition. So we have different early adopter care program, for example, for embedded AI use cases, for SAP Green Ledger, for SAP S/4HANA service and for universal parallel accounting. Here are also the links on the slide to apply for these early adopter care programs. We are also supporting customer implementation projects for SAP Joule and for embedded AI. Our third layer are our INSIGHT sessions and on the next slide our Clean Core Bootcamp. Let's start with the INSIGHT sessions. So these sessions are targeted with 1.5 to 2-hour sessions delivered by regional RIG product experts and founded by the SAP product and engineering. These sessions provide general product knowledge. customer-specific consulting is out of scope. The topics include technology, finance, business partner, CVI, Juul, an upgrade with SAP Activate and innovation adoption. Operationally, you need to plan with Raleigh around 14 days lead time. This is a complete virtual, free-of-charge, expert-guided week that helps customers to understand the clean core. All the affected areas like processes, extensibility, data, integration, operations, and how this matters for S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition implementation Our 10 steps to Clean Core Bootcamp includes demos of toolings, e.g. SAP Cloud ALM, Signavio, LeanIX, ABAP Cloud, SAP BTP extension and also open discussion of challenges. Let's have a closer look on the schedule of this week for the Clean Core Bootcamp on our next slide. so this is the 10 step agenda across the whole week from the overview and journey start but covering different steps like business processes extensibility data integration and operations and also upgrades so different customer roles can attend a tailored subset but customers are also welcome to join all 10 steps. Delivery is completely virtual. Another layer that I already mentioned are our library of self-service learning assets. Expert blogs and references across finance, plan-to -product, architecture and operations, procure-to-pay, HCM, Fiori UX, order-to-cash, business partner CVI and analytics. So we offer different formats like blog posts, learning videos or micro learnings and you can pick and choose based on your interest and consume these learning assets. Now that you have learned about our customer care rig layers, let me quickly point out an additional customer offering from our organization, the Customer Innovation Program for SAP S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition. This is another program and it's about bringing customers and SAP closer together to jointly shape the future of S/4HANA. SAP is building a long-term community of selected customers who are live on or transitioning to S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition and want to actively influence innovation. Instead of reacting to new features once they are released, customers in this program are involved early. You can bring in ideas, validate requirements and help prioritize SAP product roadmap based on real business needs the program follows a structured end-to -end innovation approach developed together with sap product and solution management in focus are three key areas line of business innovation topics gen ai and jewel use cases and clean core principles ensuring innovation stays sustainability and upgrades safe from a customer perspective the value is clear You can gain a direct voice into SAP's roadmap, early insights into upcoming innovation, and close collaboration with SAP expert and peer companies. This enables shared learning, best practice exchange, and co-creation of solutions that work in real projects. So in short, if you want to influence innovation, gain early visibility and help shape the future of S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition, this program is a great opportunity for you. Let's talk a little bit about the latest insights from our engagement, about trends and challenges for Cloud ERP transformation that we realize day by day. In our engagement with customers, we see that Cloud ERP transformation is clearly accelerating, but it also comes with a set of common trends and challenges. One of the biggest challenges we still see is delayed migration to SAP S4 HANA. Many customers are postponing the move, often to reduce short -term risk. However, this also means they limit their access to innovation, especially in areas like new user experiences, embedded analytics, automation and business AI. Closely related to this in the growing urgency around compatibility packs. With expiration dates approaching in 2025 and 2030, customers are under pressure to replace classic SAP ERP functionality. functionality, for example in areas like warehouse management or customer service. These deadlines make transformation decisions no longer optional, but really time critical. Another key trend we observe is the trade-off between speed and depth of transformation. Purely technical system conversions are often chosen to go live quickly. While this reduces initial effort, it also means that many customers miss out on the real benefit of S4 HANA. such as modern UI concepts, process innovation and AI-enabled capabilities. At the same time, technical depth and custom code remain major challenges. Legacy customization increases complexity, slows down upgrades and reduces overall system agility, especially in cloud environments where standardization and clean core principles become more important over time. finally we see a clear shift toward modular erp architectures especially in areas like supply chain modularization improves flexibility and supports cloud adoption however these architectural changes are required new skills new operating models and careful change management and all of this is further accelerated by one major factor ai sap business ai innovations built on the latest as for hana releases which significantly increases the urgency to move forward with transformation not just technically but strategically in summary cloud erp transformation today is no longer just about migrating systems it's about making the right choice to stay innovative future ready and competitive looking at the key trends and challenges in cloud erp transformation the question is, how can customers address these challenges in a practical and structured way? Our offerings are designed to support customers across the full S/4HANA journey, from orientation to innovation adoption. The first step is to gain confidence in your S/4HANA transformation. Many customers struggle with where to start and which path to choose. To support us, we provide a practical guide for senior IT leadership that helps map the journey to SAP S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition and highlights key decision points and common pitfalls. In addition, the S/4HANA Customer Care Program offers hands-on guidance from SAP experts, helping customers de-risk their transformation and benefit from lessons learned across similar projects. Beyond the initial move, it's important to plan for innovation adoption, not just a technical conversion. Our innovation adoption inside session help customers to understand which new capabilities make sense for their organization and how to prioritize innovation early, instead of postponing value realization until after go-live. A critical foundation for long-term success is a clean core and a regular upgrade routine. Legacy custom code and postponed upgrades slow down innovation. Here, our 10-step-to-clean-core bootcamp, along with the upgrade -focused insight session and best practice guidance, help customers to establish sustainable, upgrade-safe operating models. Finally, we support customers in exploring and adopting SAP Business AI for S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition through dedicated Joule, Developer, UX, and AI insight sessions, as well as beta and early adopter care programs. Customers can experiment with AI, validate use cases and adopt innovations instructed in a responsible way. In summary, these offerings work together to help customers move forward with confidence, transforming SAP S4 HANA into a platform for continuous innovation, not just a technical upgrade.
