Making Approval Decisions for Preferred Category Status Requests in SAP Ariba Supplier Management

In this video, you'll watch a category manager make approval decisions for preferred category status requests. In this scenario, I'll approve a request for a new preferred category status. First, I'll view the status that's pending approval. In the Tasks area, I'll take action on the approval task. On the approval task details page, I'll review the form responses. After reviewing the responses, I'll make an approval decision. I have two options: approve the new preferred category status or deny it. I have no objections to this request, so I'll approve it. I'll return to the Preferred detail area. The preferred category status is now approved. In this scenario, I'll deny a request for a preferred category status update. I'll start by viewing the status that's pending approval. In the Tasks area, I'll take action on the approval task. I'll review the form responses on the approval task details page. Any updated responses are highlighted in blue. To focus solely on the updated information, I'll switch to the Updated view. After reviewing the changes, I'll determine whether to approve or deny the update. I disagree with the requested change, so I'll deny it. I'll explain my decision by entering a comment and confirming the denial. My comment explaining why the update was denied is now visible on the task details page. I'll return to the Preferred detail area. The preferred category status is now denied. You've now learned how to make approval decisions for preferred category status requests. Thanks for watching.
