Managing Search Configurations in the Backoffice Administration Cockpit of SAP Commerce Cloud

Hello, my name is Adam, and in this video I'll show you the main features of search configuration and how to configure Solr search options in the back office administration cockpit. But first let's review some details out of the box. SAP Commerce Cloud ships with a search and navigation module which includes solar integration. Apache solar is a standalone enterprise search server with web services like API with help of the solar facet search. The search and navigation module supports multi catalog, multi-language and multi currencies. It provides advanced full text search capabilities and is optimized for high volume web traffic. Search and navigation also adds commerce features on top such as landing page redirects for search keywords. Let's look at the back office administration cockpit now and see where you can configure these search features. Facet configuration can be found under system Search and navigation and then facet search configurations. Here are some main features of the search and navigation module. Configurable faceting. This feature allows you to add attributes from the data model, the classification system, or even third party systems to the search index and the facet navigation. You can activate attributes of your choice to be facets and assign them facet types. Multi-Select, for example, allows customers to refine their search by selecting multiple values for a multivalued facet like sizes S, L, and XL. For a clothing product, keyword redirects. Retailers can redirect customer traffic on the site to merchandise landing pages for specific products by defining redirecting keywords. This in turn helps maximize conversions and provide up or cross-sell opportunities. Synonyms and stopwords. This feature allows business users to easily configure synonyms and stopwords without any it. Or back in development work. Autocomplete suggestions. This feature simplifies and speeds up the navigation in a site, enabling shoppers to explore the content with fewer mouse clicks. The search and navigation module also provides spellcheck functionality that enables your customers to detect and correct typos and deliver relevant results, even if the shopper misspells a keyword. This improves the search experience and helps shoppers reach desired search results with minimized effort. Lastly, the extensible API allows extending the search and navigation functionality to leverage advanced features of the underlying solar search system. When I click on Solar Config for back office, a more detailed view of my configuration options appears. In the properties tab, I can set up a fallback language for when localized information is incomplete and I. Multi-language scenario. In the Index property tab, I can toggle a number of settings regarding the search ability. For example, spell checking or autocomplete. Under free text query, I can decide if the index property is to be considered when a text search is executed, and what type of search can be performed on this attribute, like free text, fuzzy search, for example. I can also set whether the attribute should be available as a facet and configure the facet details in the solar configuration for back office. I can also define synonyms and stopwords as I mentioned before. That's all for now.
