Managing the work center capacity app for SAP S/4HANA Manufacturing

Greetings to everyone and welcome to microLearning about how to use the Manage Work Center Capacity app. My name is Marcus Oertelt and I'm working as a product expert in the area SAP S/4HANA Product Success, Co-innovation and Content for Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Discrete Industries. In this microlearning, you will see how to visualize capacities of work centers, how to visualize the load on work centers, how to detect overload situations, and how to make informed decisions to achieve balance. Let's take a look in the system. The first thing we do is we click on the app Manage Work Center Capacity Then the app is opening and the first thing we want to do here is we want to adjust our app settings. First, we look at the load personalization, and here the normal load is 80, and I would like to change it to 60%, and the critical load is not 100 for me, but it's 90%. And if I want to, I could also change or adjust the area of responsibility for my MRP controllers. Here in the app, above, I see the filter criteria, for example, here the editing status, the evaluation horizon, I can also adjust if I want to, and for example, here I can also say today minus X and plus Y days, so I want to go up to 13 days, I could change the bucket type, and here in the load type, I want to choose Communitive Overload. Then, overdue, I want to say, okay, my last five days, I would like to know. And then, if I want to, I can also adjust or adapt another, or pull in another filter criteria here. But, at the moment, I'm okay with that. So, here, I'm particularly interested in my machine returning one. As you can see, I have a high cumulative load, also my capacity requirements are exceeding. You can also see that here in the utilization graph. And I can take a quick look at my operations and my shifts. and then I can start my work of adjusting my turning one work center. Here I could say also, I would like to see the utilization in hours and not in percentage. And here, by clicking on it, I can see the current situation. And now I can see in the operations that I need to reschedule. And here, I want to reschedule one operation from the 8th to the 15th. By saving, I now shifted the operation, and you can see in the utilization graph that now my capacity is green again on the 8th, but the situation on the 15th actually worsened. So let's switch that back and move an operation back to the 8th. As the customer needs it, I need to produce it. I have to find some other solutions in order to match demand and capacity. And here, look also on my shifts, and here on the 8th, you can see I only have a capacity of 8 hours. And I would like to add another shift. So, time-wise, I want to add the shift to my corresponding shift. So, let's put it on 4pm. We adjusted the setting here and my end time is, let's say, 10pm. This is now how I added another shift. And you can also see here that my little horizontal graph increased. And here I can see that I have almost 15 hours. It's actually, I think, 14 hours of capacity now. But it's still not enough. So now I want to add another shift. and I'm also on the 8th, and the start time is now after 10 p.m. because that's when my last shift ended before, and here I'm ending actually at 6 in the morning. Maybe if I want to and have a little break here, one minute break, I could also just one minute. So now it's at 10 p.m. in one minute. So now I can see when I save this, that my capacity on the 8th actually increased even further, but it's still not enough, as you can see here in the current selection. So what else can I do? Maybe I cannot add another shift, but maybe I can increase the number of people working on my shifts. So here for my first shift, I could say it's not only one person working, but two persons. And now you can see by saving that we increased the capacity to 16 hours. And now you see or you saw that with that shift changed to two people, you can see the utilization in the graph actually went to yellow. So, this is how fast you actually can increase the utilization in the Managed Work Center Capacity app.
