Navigating the Preferred Area in Supplier Profiles in SAP Ariba Supplier Management

In this video, you'll learn about the features of the Preferred detail area in supplier profiles. You can view and manage a supplier's preferred category statuses in this area. Organizations use preferred category status labels to represent the desirability of using a supplier for specific combinations of commodities, regions, and departments. Your organization's processes determine whether it uses preferred supplier management. The Preferred detail area will only appear in a supplier's profile after you qualify them for at least one commodity, region, and department combination. Here, you can request a new preferred category status for the supplier. You can also view a summary list of all the supplier's preferred category statuses, offering a snapshot of the current statuses assigned to them. You can dive deeper by viewing the details of a preferred category request for a status. This request is pending approval. If you're an approver, you can take action on the task to approve or deny the request. I'll choose Done to return to the Preferred detail area. You can change an existing status by editing the preferred category status request or deleting the status. You've now learned about the features of the Preferred detail area in supplier profiles. Thanks for watching.
