<div><div><div><div><div><div>In this tutorial, learn how to provision your first SAP HANA Cloud, SAP HANA Database, and Data Lake instances step by step. We'll walk you through the SAP BTP Cockpit, showing how to manually configure your instance, define essential settings, and enable secure connections. You'll also learn how to activate the Data Lake and review your configuration before deployment. Follow along to easily create and monitor your SAP HANA Cloud environment.</div></div></div></div></div></div>

Provisioning an Instance of SAP HANA Cloud, SAP HANA Database and Data Lake

Now, we are taking a closer look at how to provision your very first SAP HANA Cloud, SAP HANA Database, and Data Lake instances. Let's start. In the SAP BTP cockpit, go to Subscriptions and select SAP HANA Cloud. A new browser tab will open, showing the SAP HANA Cloud Central Instances page. On the top right, click Create Instance and then choose Configure Manually. Proceed to the next step. Enter a name for your instance in the Name field. Make sure not to include any spaces. The Description field can be left empty, as it is optional. Next, set up a password and confirm it by typing it again. Be sure to remember this password, since you need it to log into your instance. Once that's done, click Next Step. At this page, in a production environment, you would normally be able to scale your instance. Since this is a trial account, scaling options are not available. Simply continue by clicking Next Step. Here you can see the SAP HANA database availability zone and replicas. Replicas are additional database copies used to improve availability and reliability of your SAP HANA instance. Deploying replicas is only available in the SAP HANA Cloud paid tier. Simply continue by clicking next step. Now, you can configure several advanced settings for your database. For example, you can allow access from specific IP addresses, all IP addresses, or none. For this tutorial, choose to allow all connections, as we'll need this set up later. You also have the option enable the SAP Cloud Connector, which makes it easier to connect your SAP HANA Cloud database to an on -premise SAP HANA system. Keep in mind that you can always adjust these settings later if needed. Click Next to continue. Now, decide whether you want to activate the SAP HANA Cloud Data Lake. For this exercise, enable the Data Lake and assign a name to the instance. Then, click Next Step to move forward. In the following screen, configure the advanced settings for your Data Lake instance. Here you can manage which connections are allowed. Finally, click Review and Create Instance to see a summary of all your settings. Once everything looks correct, select Create Instance. Your new SAP HANA Cloud, SAP HANA Database and Data Lake Instance will now be created. In SAP HANA Cloud Central, you can monitor the status on the left side of each instance entry.
