Setting up a Communication Scenario for a Self-Developed Mobile Task App - SAP S/4HANA Supply Chain

Hello everybody and welcome to microlearning. My name is Markus Oertelt. I am an SAP S/4HANA Cloud senior solution  advisor, and I work in the area of product success and customer co-innovation  here at SAP. Our topic today is Setting Up a Communication  Scenario for a Self-Developed SAP Mobile Task App, and this is interesting for  you, as you learn in a few minutes the skills you need to tackle the implementation  on your own. If you are an SAP S/4HANA Cloud application  consultant, or a process consultant or a technical-minded  project program manager, this microlearning is especially for you. The microlearning consists of a short overview of  how the communication scenario works, and then I will demonstrate in the system how  you can create a new user, create a new communication system, and last  but not least, create a communication arrangement. If you look at the scenario Warehouse Task  Integration, you as the customer or partner are owning the  S/4HANA tenant, and the external system where you developed  your mobile task app. Now you want to connect those two. What you need are whitelisted APIs. The first one is warehouse order and task. You can read and update with that one. And the second one is the warehouse resource  API, which can create, read, and update. Both are OData services. You can connect via username and password or  with a certificate, or with OAuth2 authentication. An important prerequisite is you need the  communication management business catalog, SAP_CORE_BC_COM. And the Warehouse Task Integration number is  0353. So let's move into the system, where I'll show  you how to set it up. So in this system, the first thing you want to do is you want to  create a communication user. I'm going to type in "communication", and here  see Maintain Communication Users. I'm going to click the app, and I want to create a  new one, so I click on New, and then this app is opening and I want to  create a username, for example, I'm just going to call it, 353, for example, with an SID100 number, give it an meaningful description, for example  MICROLEARNING_TASK_APP. And then I can either enter a password or use the system to create a secure password. This used for a basic authentication scenario. And you can also use certificates for, like, a  little more sophisticated single sign-on scenarios. And here you would upload your certificates. But for our scenario, I'm just going to create this  user. This is how fast you create a user in S/4HANA  Cloud. The next thing is, what we have to do is we have to create a communication system. So I'm going to type in "communication system" and the system already proposes an app.  So I'm going to click on it. And also here for the system, I want to create a  new one. The new communication system is asking me  for a system ID, for a system name. And here I'm just going to click on System ID  and type in COM, for example, and and call it 0353. Because then we have it, like, consistent also  with the user in our scenario 0353, and say Create, and the app is opening, and what I really need  here is the host name. And here I'm just going to give the system my  host name information and I can fill in some more information. For example, I'm going to call the business  system 0353 as well. Then one more thing we have to do is, in the  "Users for Inbound Communication", we have to include the user we just created in  the first step. I'm going to search for it. I'm just going to look for COM, and here we see  our 353 scenario MICROLEARNING_TASK_APP user, and I'm going to include this one. Here you could also, if you forgot the first step, create a new user or go to the app Maintain  User. In our case, everything is fine. We created a user already, and I'm going to say  Save, and I really fast created this communication system. So in the last step, what I still have to do in  order for the communication scenario to work is I need  to set up an arrangement. So here I see the Communication Arrangements  app, and here I want to create a new one. So I'm going to say also here I want to create a  new one. And here I need to look for the scenario. The scenario is known by now, it's our 0353  scenario, Warehousing - Process Warehouse Task  Integration. I'm going to click on it and I want to create a  new one. And here, all I have to do is just enter the  communication system that we just created in the step before. I'm going to look for it, see if the system finds it  quickly for me. And here I see what we just created, and I'm  going to include it. The inbound services are ready, everything is set up, pre-configured by the  system. And so I'm going to say Save, and the  communication arrangement is created. If I want to know if everything worked, I can also check that quickly by looking at Display Communication  Scenarios. And here if we look for ours, the warehouse  SAP_COM_0353, we see "Communication Arrangements", "2", so  everything seems to be fine. We can see ours has been included. So our task is set up, and you're ready to go. So what did we learn today? Today we learned how to create a  communication scenario and to set up your communication user, your system, and your  arrangement. For further learning, please check out the openSAP course "Building  Tomorrow's ERP with SAP S/4HANA", and also the openSAP course "Integration with  SAP S/4HANA Cloud", which is a really detailed course of all the  integration you need. So thanks for watching, and happy applying. Goodbye.
