Understanding Data Privacy and Marketing Permissions in SAP Marketing Cloud

In this video, you will learn about the features that SAP marketing cloud offers to assure data privacy and the concept behind marketing permissions. First, you will hear information about data privacy and then we will cover the marketing permissions topic. Data protection is associated with numerous legal requirements and privacy concerns. In addition to compliance with general data privacy Regulation, it is necessary to consider compliance with industry specific legislation in different countries. SAP provides specific features and functions to support compliance such as user consent, read access, change, logging information, and deletion. Users must be asked for consent before collecting any personal data not interactively, such as addresses, geographic location, microphone, camera documents, or photos. The SAP marketing Cloud solution and SAP assume that the marketing user, for example an SAP customer, a company collecting the data, has consent from their data subject. A natural person, for example, customer contact or account to collect or transfer data to the SAP marketing solution without the data subject's consent to transfer the data. The data processor can be subject to fines and loss of reputation. SAP marketing cloud standard functionality does not process sensitive data. If, however, you want to use read access logging, for example, because you extended contact data by sensitive data, you can define your own read access log and configuration. You can use generically available capabilities
