Understanding Resource Scheduler in SAP Service Cloud Version 2

Hi. In this video, I'll show you how to enable and configure in the SAP Service Cloud system, the basic functionality of the resource scheduler. The role of a resource scheduler feature in a SAP Service Cloud is to support efficient planning and scheduling during the service process. At any given time, the planner or the dispatcher can see which field service resources are available to work on a specific task. The field service information is represented in a green chart, which aids in the planning processes. After the planning is done, the technicians can easily access a list of tasks assigned to them and record their progress. As a side note, this list is also supported on mobile to ease the work of technicians while on the move, let's see a demo on how to enable and configure the resource scheduler logged into the system. As an administrator, I click on Business Configuration WAC. Select the edit Project scoping option and navigate to the scoping section. Here under the General Business Data, I enable Resource Scheduler Scoping Element to open the question section, navigate again to General Business Data. If the SAP Multi Resource Scheduling Integration for a SAP Service Cloud is enabled, we don't need to use the resource scheduler feature in the system. In this example, I'll configure the system to use the basic functionality of the native resource scheduler. For this, I flag the first question. I also check the question related to the snap time when moving assignments. The last functionality will change the default behavior, and the system will place an assignment to the nearest 30 minute slot. When moved or resized. Next, I navigate to Business Configuration Activity list to fine tune the resource scheduler. I do this by clicking on the Open Activity list. Here I search for the activity demand processing. Clicking on it, a new screen will display all the settings related to Resource Scheduler. In this example, I'll cover a few basic customizing activities. Let's start by defining the colors for displaying assignments. For this, I click on the first link. Here I can define the name and the RGB color values. This offers me a wide flexibility in choosing how to show colors on the Gantt chart or resource scheduler. I'll define a new color by clicking Add Row button. After defining the color code and the RGB values, I click Save and Close. Next, I'll maintained a working hours type and click on the corresponding activity. The working hours type is predefined and not changeable. What I'll do is to assign my newly created color to the overtime hour type. I simply choose in the dropdown list the color defined in the previous activity and click on Save and Close. Then I maintain the color time mapping by clicking on Maintain Service Request. Type color mapping here and mapping between service ticket type and color is defined. I click then on add rule. For service order type I assign the yellow color. All set? Let's see how it looks like in a system. As a resource planner, I navigate to the Resource Scheduler Work Center view filter on all demands assigned to the service team, which are responsible for tickets of type service, order creation, and check if any appointment is set up for a given service technician. Check on a previous state and we can visualize the appointment assigned. With this, we will learn how to make basic settings for a resource scheduler.
