Uploading Media to Backoffice Product Cockpit Using Excel in SAP Commerce Cloud

Hello, I'm Marco. In this video, I'll show you how to import media in bulk into the back of a product cockpit. I can do that by importing a zip archive containing the media files and an Excel spreadsheet referencing the files and the structure. The first step is to log in to the back office as a back office product administrator, and switch to the search and browse view. Now let's talk about the Excel file. Let's assume for this video that I want to upload media files for new products and not for existing ones. That is why I will download the Excel template for existing products. I would have selected them and use Export Excel instead. I don't want to bore you with filling out every column for creating new products via Excel. We have a video for that. So here I have already provided that information. Now let's see how to include media files. Easy enough. I'll include the images column in the file. Row two shows me the template of how I should reference my product catalog version. Since my products are apparel products, I specify the apparel product catalog as usual in the stage version. Now I'll have to provide the file path of the pictures using the location of this Excel file as a reference. Let's see. One of them is on the same level as the Excel file. The other one is in a subdirectory. Let me add that information to the Excel file. Okay, now it's time to save the Excel file. Next I'll zip the images. It is important that the structure of the zip file represents the same hierarchy level, which I had put down in the Excel file. Now I can go back to the back office product cockpit and import the files. I'll just drag them over. And click import. Finally I'll search for them. Yes.
