Using Previews for Your Email in SAP Marketing Cloud

Welcome to the training video on how to use the Preview for your email.  Wouldn't you like to see how your e-mail is displayed to your customers  and how it looks on various devices before you send it out?  In this video, we’ll walk you through how to ensure that your e-mail is displayed correctly using Preview.  Let’s get started!  Suppose you’ve created an e-mail in Content Studio.  Before you click to Send, you want to make sure  your e-mail is displayed to your customers just as you expect it.  Using our Preview functionality,  you can check how your e-mail is displayed on different devices, e-mail programs, and browsers.  First, choose the Preview icon.  Then you’ll see how the attributes and conditions you’ve defined are displayed in the language currently chosen in the email.  Select Personalized Preview.  Here you can enter values for the personalization attributes  or use the existing contact from a list.  In this demonstration, I’ll add the First Name   and continue to click on “View in English”.   You can preview your email for predefined or custom resolutions  in both the portrait and landscape format for various devices  such as desktop, tablet, and mobile.   You can also check the values and appearance on different devices  and see if your e-mail looks exactly as you expected.  There are many ways that your e-mail can be rendered,  depending on the e-mail client, device, or browser your subscribers are using.  Use Litmus Preview if you've signed a contract with Litmus.  To see the preview, click Run Test if you run a test for the first time  or click Retest if you’ve run it before.  Litmus email preview doesn’t show personalization,  but it shows you how your email looks on some of the most popular email clients and devices.  To see the preview in more detail,  click on the corresponding image and a detailed view opens.  Scroll to other views using the arrows on your screen.   Let’s go back.   Select "Choose e-mail clients" to see previews for more email programs.   Here you can configure which email clients you want to test.   To see the previously requested previews,  choose "View Preview History,"  which allows you to navigate to the Litmus page.   If your email is written in multiple languages,  select the language you want to test and open the Litmus Preview.   Click Run test or Retest.   If there’s something you want to change in your email,  go back to the email editor and make your changes.  Repeat the steps and run Retest, if needed.   In addition to this feature, you can display the HTML code for the email in a read-only format.   If the email preview looks good,  then let’s send a test email for a final check.  Go to Settings.  Here you can change the name of your email,  or for example, select a segmentation profile to include additional personalization attributes.  Select a Sender Profile in the Delivery area.  You could also use Send on Behalf Personalization for your email.   Let’s go back and send a test email.  Click on Send Test. Click on Send Test. If you choose the option “Using contact”,  the system uses the attribute values for the selected contact when the test email is sent. If any conditions exist, these are applied to the contact.  You can also choose Using Attribute Values to enter values for the personalization attributes.  The system replaces the personalization attributes used in the test email,  such as hyperlinks or image links with the values specified.  Then the system evaluates the conditions.  In the Subject Prefix field,  enter a suitable text to make it easier to distinguish your test email in your inbox.  Fill in the information, such as your email address and your name for this test email.  Send the test email in the current language selected or send it in all languages.  For this demonstration, I’ll choose English.   The test email will arrive in your mailbox soon after you send it.   There it is!   Check if everything is fine, such as the personalization, the links, and its appearance.  The email looks great!  Now, the email is ready to be sent out.  Go back to the email.   Proceed to Release.  All done!  Great job! Now, you can use it in your campaigns.
