Using Social Network Apps in SAP Customer Data Cloud

In this video, we'll explain how to use social network apps in SAP Customer Data Cloud and why they are needed. We'll also identify best practices when implementing social network apps, and describe how to configure expanded permissions where necessary. SAP Customer Data Cloud uses social network apps to allow users to register and log in to your site using their social network accounts, such as Facebook, Google, and LinkedIn. The login is secure and simple, providing users with an easy way to use your site without having to create another password. While granting you permissions to store their publicly available user data. You'll need to activate and configure each social network app you'd like to offer in the console. For most social providers, social network apps are required in order to offer registration, login or share on your website, mobile or other applications. Some important providers which require this are Facebook, Google, Singh, Twitter and LinkedIn. You can check the full list in the SAP help portal. There are some networks which can be used for registration and login without requiring an external application or special setup. They include WordPress, blogger. Net Log and Live door. Here are a few best practice recommendations to get you started with social network apps. First, always use a company's social profile for managing your social network apps. If you or another member of your team managing external apps is not available, you want to make sure your organization still has the ability to access the application and grant members of your team access if needed. Second, grant access to your developers and designated team members so they can set up and manage the external apps during your implementation. And third, if separate branding or different data permissions are needed per website, native application or brand, you want to set up an app for each offered provider for each unique scenario in order to ensure the customers have control over their data, changes have been made to how permissions are requested and how the data collected can be used. You must be approved to retrieve more specific user data, and each network may have their own submission process. Facebook and other social networks have implemented a review process to make sure these guidelines are followed. They'll want to see how the data use case for your website or application for each data permission requested. Benefits the end users experience on your site or application. However, you'll still be able to retrieve public profile data from these networks. We hope you enjoyed this video on using social network apps with SAP Customer Data Cloud. Thanks for watching.
