Using the Application Library in SAP Customer Data Platform

In this demo, we'll walk you through the application library feature of the SAP CDP. First, we'll see how to use the application library to connect source applications so that customer data can be ingested to SAP CDP in the CDP console. Hover your mouse over the hamburger button on the top left. Click on the sources menu under the connect section. On the left side, you see a list of existing source applications like the storage, commerce, and CRM applications. On the right side, you see the total number of unique customers ingested through all the source applications and the percentage of successfully ingested application events for each of the applications. You see the application activation status, customer data type, its ingests, and the number of application events already ingested into CDP. Click on the Greater than button on the application row to expand the source application definition, and see some events defined on the application. To ingest customer data. Click on the vertical three dots on the top right corner to enable or disable the source application and edit the application connection information. Click on back and hover your mouse over the hamburger button on the top left. Click on the destinations menu under the connect section. You see a list of targets or destination applications. Click on the Greater Than button on the right sides of the application row range. It takes you to the Application Detail view, where you see existing or predefined actions to activate target audiences or the customer journey. The application connection information on the edit application pop up is the same as the source application. Go to the menu, then click sources. Then click on connect application. This screen shows the application library where you can choose from the available types of connections to external systems. On the left hand side menu, select Cloud Storage and click on the connect button inside the AWS S3 cards. The create application pop up opens. We can now configure the settings to connect to Amazon Web Services S3 buckets that was previously made available through SAP Business Technology Platform, or BTP. Enter a name and toggle activated to on in the authentication settings. Provide access and secret keys in configuration. Provide read and write bucket names. Click create the application used to ingest and downstream data is created. This completes the application library demo.
