Using the Keep Posted Results Feature in SAP SuccessFactors Incentive Management

Hello and welcome. In this video, you'll learn about the Keep Posted Results feature in SAP SuccessFactors Incentive Management. Keep Posted Results is a calculation processing feature that allows you to store results derived from all calculation runs that produce posted payments. With this feature disabled, after you post results for a period, any calculation results data, including credits, measurements, incentives, and deposits are not retained. In some cases, this may cause a lack of audit trail and make it hard for your compensation team to investigate payment inquiries. With Keep Posted Results enabled, a snapshot of the prior results is retained in a set of back-end tables. Keep Posted Results allows you to access prior results if a pipeline for the same period is rerun and allows validation of the results. You can complete multiple compensate and pay runs in any period and view posted results such as credits, measurements, incentives, and deposits for each posted calculation run. Data is not mixed with production data. Instead, data is separated in their own tables called KPR tables, making it easier to consume for data visualization, building stage hooks, and resolving inquiries. Reports or standard extracts can be created based on KPR data for tracing payments and other calculation results data. Let's look at a scenario in which this can be useful. SmartLogic is a fictional company that runs compensate and pay at the end of the month. Terry Callahan, a sales rep, has earned $1,500 in commissions this month. He can view these results in his dashboard. His payment is posted at the end of the month when it's time to run payroll. A week later, a mistake was found in one of Terry's transactions. It turns out that he was underpaid by $500 for the month. To fix this, we can rerun Compensate and Pay and post the new payment. Terry now has two payments, one for $1,500 and the other for $500. We can see that the amount of the payment is correct. However, the original credits, measurements, incentives, and deposits that were used to calculate the original $1,500 are no longer available. If Terry needs to check on this information, or if the compensation team needs to investigate the source of the original payment, this information is not available. As an administrator, you can activate Keep Posted Results in the System Preferences workspace. Keep Posted Results is in the lower section under Advanced Calculation Options. To recap, Keep Posted Results is a feature of SAP SuccessFactors Incentive Management that creates a snapshot of posted results, allowing users and administrators to access these results, even after data is recalculated. Posted results are stored in non-production tables, called KPR tables, which can be accessed through data visualization tools, such as reports and analytics, or by other means, such as stagehooks.
