Working with Unplanned Lean Services with a Value Limit in SAP S/4HANA Asset Management

Welcome to the MicroLearning Series on SAP S/4HANA Asset Management. In this video I will show you how to add unplanned lean services with a value limit to a maintenance order operation or a task list operation. As a maintenance planner, you can select components and lean services from a purchase contract and add them to a maintenance order operation or a task list operation. A new button "Select from Contract" is now available in the applications for processing maintenance orders and maintenance task lists. With the "Select from Contract" functionality, you can copy one or more service items as unplanned lean service with a value limit to an operation. For this purpose, the dialog box of the "Select from Contract"  button in Change Maintenance Order and Task List application has been enhanced with additional table columns that allows you to specify an expected value and an overall limit for the service item. To display the "Select from Contract" button, you need to activate the additional function in customizing for Plant Maintenance and Customer Service under System Enhancements and Data Transfer. If you have followed the implementation details, you will see the "Select from Contract" button on the Materials, Services and Material Overview tabs. By pressing the button, a pop-up window will show you all the relevant purchase contracts, which are available in your system. You can use the filter section to identify the desired contract. You can use item hierarchies in purchase contracts. An item hierarchy is a means of grouping items, and it can consist of one or multiple items sets with sub items. If you want to add the item as an unplanned lean service, first enter a value limit. To do this, specify an expected value and an overall limit in the corresponding table columns. The expected value is a value that the unplanned services covered by these items are not expected to exceed. The expected value is included in the net price of the item. The overall limit is a maximum value that the total of unplanned services covered by this document item may not exceed. When the services that are actually performed are entered in service entry sheets, the system checks the entry values with regard to this maximum value. If the overall limit has exceeded, it is issued an appropriate message. The system copies the selected items and takes over all relevant details maintained in the purchase, contracts as default values. The number of purchasing document and the item number are copied to the outline agreement and outline agreement item fields. In the standard, the system automatically assign the item category "E" - enhanced limit to these items. Thank you for watching.
