This journey consists of two comprehensive courses that incorporate self-paced content, insightful videos and simulated exercises to deepen your understanding and skills. Category management is a strategic approach for optimising external spending and managing the supply base to achieve the best possible business outcomes. In the first course, Managing a Category Profile, you'll learn about the benefits, advantages and key terminology of category management. This course helps you understand the importance of aligning category strategies with corporate goals and where category management fits within the broader procurement process. You will define key phases to initiate effective category creation, upload relevant laws, requirements and company policies to ensure compliance within your category and assign team members to develop strategies and plans for assigned commodities. Additionally, you'll identify key stakeholders, assess their level of impact and involvement and engage them as integral players in your strategy. The second course, Creating and Managing a Strategic Plan and Document, delves into developing and executing a robust strategic plan. This course guides you through developing a comprehensive strategy and plan, creating a strategic plan document, and implementing the plan using the Develop Strategy and Plan app. Once the plan is approved, you'll learn to monitor its progress, make necessary adjustments, and link a guided sourcing project to your strategic plan. A well -executed category strategy outlines specific actions to achieve defined objectives, leading to multiple benefits such as cost savings, enhanced sustainability, improved stakeholder satisfaction, and increased innovation.
