Activating Customer Data in SAP Service Cloud Version 1 with SAP Customer Data Platform

Hello, and welcome to this video  of integrating SAP Customer Data Platform  with SAP Service Cloud Version 1.   In this video, we will configure  an SAP Service Cloud Version 1 Application for Customer Data Activation.   If you have not already completed  the SAP Service Cloud Version 1  application setup,  please see the video on Configuring an SAP Service Cloud Version 1 Application for Customer Data Ingestion.   Now we’ll see how to activate customer data  in SAP Service Cloud Version 1.   Choose Destinations under Connect.   You’ll see the same application  as was created in the previous demo.   This is because the standard SAP Service Cloud Version 1 connector  supports both event ingestion and action activation.  Choose the Next button on the destination application.  You’ll see the three actions are already created  from the SAP Service Cloud Version 1  connector template.   We’re going to use the Create customer action  to create an individual customer  in SAP Service Cloud Version 1  from the SAP Customer Data Platform.   Choose Edit from the three-dot action menu on the Create customer action.   On the Settings tab, you can modify the action name,  choose a category,   and processing purposes.   You can optionally enter a customer role like CRM000 to be assigned  to the new individual customer  in SAP Service Cloud Version 1.   Choose Save to go to the Model tab.   Here you can add additional fields  to the action schema.  Choose Next to go to the Mapping tab.   Here you can map the customer schema fields on the left side to the action schema fields  on the right side.   Choose Save to complete the action setup.   Back on the destination application page,  choose Enable  from the three-dot action menu  to activate the Create customer action.    To test the action, you can use To test the action, you can use the action playground feature  to emulate an action activation to SAP Service Cloud Version 1.   We’ll use a CX flow to activate the action.   Go to CX Flows under Activate   and choose Add New CX Flow.  On the popup,  choose the Customer Created or Updated trigger and choose Select.   Next choose Created for Status,  and then Save.  On the CX Flow designer screen,  enter a name   and drag  the Has a processing purpose? decision  and drop it into the dashed diamond box  under the trigger on the right side.   Choose a processing purpose and then choose Save.   Drag the Create customer action  on the left side  and drop it into the dashed square box  of the YES branch on the right side.   Choose Save on the popup  to accept the predefined customer role value.   Choose Save to create the CX Flow.   Now we’ll create a new customer profile  in SAP Customer Data Platform  to trigger the CX Flow,  which will create an individual customer in SAP Service Cloud Version 1.   To create a new customer profile in SAP Customer Data Platform,  we can ingest a customer profile event on the same application.   Go to Sources under Connect   and choose the Next button to open the SAP Service Cloud Version 1 application.  Choose the three-dot menu on the Get customers in batch event  and choose Playground from the dropdown.   Next enter the customer information   and choose Send Event.   The event playground sends a mock event  and creates a new customer profile  in the SAP Customer Data Platform.   Go to the customers dashboard  and find the new profile by going to Search under Customers.   When the new customer profile is created,  the CX Flow will be triggered  because the trigger condition is met.   And since the new customer profile  has the specified processing purpose assigned,  the action part of the CX Flow will be called,  which sends an OData API call  to SAP Service Cloud Version 1.   Go to CX Flows under Activate  to see the activation.   If the activation is successful,   you can go to Individual Customers under Customers  in SAP Service Cloud Version 1  to see the new customer.   This completes the customer data activation  in SAP Service Cloud Version 1.  Thank you for watching.
