Adding an Extension Field in SAP Sales and SAP Service Cloud Version 2

Welcome to this video on creating a custom field in SAP Sales Cloud and SAP Service Cloud Version 2. In this demo, you will learn how to add an "Engagement Score Lead" field to the Lead entity to help sales teams track cumulative engagement activities, improve lead prioritization, and increase conversion rates. First, navigate to the User Menu and select System Settings. Next, go to All Settings. then Extensibility, and open Extensibility Administration. This is where you manage all custom and extension fields. Here, you'll see a list of all business entities, grouped by services. To focus on entities that can be extended, check the "Extendable" box. Now, drill down to the Lead entity. Select it to open the worklist for Lead. Select the Custom Fields tab, then choose the Add button to create a new extension field. In the Create Fields screen, enter "Engagement Score Lead" as the Label. The system automatically generates a technical name, but you can edit it if there's a duplication error. For Data Type, choose String, and for Data Format, choose Code. This is because the field will use categorical engagement scoring with predefined levels to improve lead qualification and machine learning model training. Now add Low, Medium, and High code entries. Once you've reviewed your settings, choose Save to create the extension field. The new "Engagement Score Lead" field is now listed under the Custom Fields tab for the Lead entity. It's immediately available for use in the UI, API, and Machine Learning models, based on the properties you set. Please note that you will use this custom field in the next steps within a Machine Learning-based Lead Scoring model, allowing it to incorporate engagement levels and improve prediction accuracy for high-conversion leads. You can set additional attributes, such as marking the field as Required or Updatable. For this use case, you can leave it as Updatable and optional or non-required, so users can fill it out as needed. Next, move to the Field Query Properties tab. Here, you can control how this field behaves in list views and queries. Enable the options to make "Engagement Score Lead" Filterable, Searchable, and Sortable. This allows users to easily find, filter, and sort leads based on the engagement score in lists. If you want to check how many fields you can still mark as Searchable or search-relevant, turn on the "Show Limits" switch. The system displays the total and the used fields, for example, 1 out of 10. Now that the new custom field "Engagement Score Lead" is ready, you can proceed to add it to the Lead Scoring model. Go to Intelligent Service settings under AI Configuration in the System Settings, and choose the Lead Score tab. The Lead Scoring model uses Machine Learning algorithms to predict the likelihood of lead conversion based on historical and behavioral data. Custom fields like "Engagement Score Lead" can be included as additional features to enrich the Machine Learning prediction model. For now, you can skip the Define Model step since the system is not yet ready for Lead Scoring model training. Choose Manage Extensions, then add the new custom field as part of the model training preparation steps. Congratulations! You've learned how to add a custom field, set its data type and attributes, configure its query properties, and use it for the AI Lead Scoring model training in SAP Sales Cloud and SAP Service Cloud Version 2.
