Adding Clauses via Templates to the Clause Library in SAP Ariba

Welcome to this demo on how to add multiple contract clauses to the SAP Ariba Clause Library from a Project Template document. To use this method, you must first load a contract document into a project template. Therefore, you need the ability to add documents to a project template, and you must belong to the Clause Library team. Let's start by formatting a document to be loaded as a Main Agreement or Contract Addendum. Once that is done, open a contract workspace template. If the template status is not Draft, create a new version by selecting Actions and then New Version from the Properties area. Next, load the document as a Main Agreement or Contract Addendum in the template. After loading the document, access the Outline View tab to view the clauses. For each clause you want to publish to the Clause Library, choose Actions and then Publish to Clause Library. A new clause window will open. Here you can enter information about the clause. Change the default title and create a useful, brief, and descriptive title to help contract authors easily identify and use the clause. Enter a description for the clause. This description will be available to contract authors when displaying the document in the Outline View or when substituting clauses. Note that this clause description text is not viewable by suppliers, customers, or external users. Choose the clause type. Preferred, Alternate or Fallback. Optionally, you can set approval levels to add users to document approval flows when a clause is used or modified. Specify the owner of the document and any editors. Editors will have the ability to view and edit the clause. You can also set any access control settings if needed. Clauses published to the Clause Library from a project template are added to the root level of the Clause Library, meaning at the top. To organize your clauses, drag and drop them to the appropriate folder. You have successfully added multiple contract clauses to the Clause Library from a project template document. Remember to keep clause titles unique, short, and descriptive to improve usability and accuracy in reporting.
