Backoffice Perspectives - SAP Commerce Cloud

In this video, let's look at our unified backoffice tool. Backoffice allows access to functions according to defined user roles.  Depending on the role of the user, the access can include different perspectives based on the account permissions.  In a previous video, you already saw one perspective, the BackOffice Product Cockpit.  Let's have a brief look at other available perspectives. First is the Administration Cockpit.  This cockpit is dedicated to technical users or to system administrators.  Those of you familiar with the HMC will recognize the navigation on the left.  Here I can browse the different areas of Commerce and filter for one I am interested in with a quick search.  For example, I can check all the predefined media formats.  This cockpit also allows me to manage any aspects of my Commerce site. As an admin user, I also get access to another back end perspective.  This perspective allows me to manage my search settings and boost products in the search results of my customer.  This is the adaptive search perspective.  Let's look at a quick example: If I go to the storefront and navigate to the brand page for all Canon products, I can see a list that's sorted by relevance.  If I want another product to be listed right at the top,  I can quickly change this in the Adaptive Search perspective.  I'll navigate to the same category and pick my Powershot A480 red camera and select promote.  This pushes the product to the top of the list here and...  also in the storefront.  This is a great and easy way to draw attention to certain products and brands and focus the interests of your customers. Now let's quickly look at the Customer Support Cockpit.    I'll log in as the Customer Support manager.  Here I can create or manage tickets, approve product reviews,  look up existing customers who are calling, etc.  I can also see orders, payment information, addresses, and handle returns. Thanks to the assisted service module, I can jump to the storefront at any time to perform a task for a customer.  This feature is very important as it allows customer agents to support customers directly on the storefront  and see exactly what the customer sees.  When in this mode, agents have access to extra information via the customer 360 view.  The information includes the profile and activities of the customer,  as well as coupons and promotions the support agent can apply to the order. Ok, and for a final glimpse into BackOffice, let's have a look at the Order fulfillment Cockpit. I'll log in as a warehouse manager to access order information and perform order-related operations.  I can check order shipping, fulfillment locations, inventory, as well as the status of returns.  You remember that we placed an order earlier?  Let's look it up here in the order fulfillment cockpit.  If I go to consignments, I can see a list of all the orders placed and identify them by order number.  This one's easy and If I select it, I can create the necessary dispatch documents: The pick and pack slip. The shipping label  And if necessary other labels for returns and cross-border shipments.  I can also confirm the shipment.  Now the shipment is confirmed.  Let's check the remaining total stock available for this product.  Now I must select my store and find my product with the article number.  And there you go; the results show me the total number of cameras available to sell. Ok, that's a wrap for the Backoffice UI!  Make sure to check out our resources video to find out more!
