Building and Activating an Audience in SAP Customer Data Platform

In this video, we're going to create a new audience using an exploration, manually activate this audience, then view its contents as a JSON file. In the CDP console, go to Audience Activations. You'll see a list of audiences, along with the estimated total number of profiles, the type of entities activated, the next and last activation time, and the total activated profiles. Now go to Explorations. You can see the existing explorations, out of which we can create audiences. Let's use the, female book lover exploration. On the exploration screen, you can see the nodes on the right side canvas, along with the entity, conditions, and potential number of entities. Based on the current exploration, we can add new nodes or modify existing nodes. Once you're done with the exploration, choose the desired node and create audience activation from it. After giving the new audience a name, choose and add an action from the target application. At this time, you already see the expected number of entities to be activated. Leave scheduling set to off, since we'll manually activate it in a moment. Now go back to audience activations and open activation status for the newly created audience. Choose activate now. Add the desired action from the target application. Check the action configuration and click the Activate Now button. After a few seconds, you'll see the activation in progress. Once it has completed successfully, you can see the number of records processed, along with the activation started and ended times. When you click on the activation entry on the left side, you'll see the activation detail on the right side including the running time the number of entities activated and failed the job id and so on since we're using an s3 cloud storage action to export the target entities defined in the audience we can now go to the s3 bucket and check out the generated file you'll see a new file readers .json which contains the profile information of the female book lovers in the specified folder let's take a quick look at the file contents It contains the primary email, first name, last name, gender, and so on from customer profiles who are a part of the female book lover activation. This completes the audience demo. Thank you for watching.
