Configuration Manager & Self Service Dashboard - SAP Fieldglass

SAP Fieldglass offers buyers a unique management user role that provides applicable users much greater control of their technical SAP Fieldglass company configuration settings through an abundant self-service dashboard. Typically, client interfaces are very complex and often always changing,  and therefore, the secure and timely coordination of data processes is imperative for SAP Fieldglass buyers to be successful.   Through a flexible framework of support, additional access to integration and configuration tools, and further knowledge of the platform,    SAP Fieldglass provides an additional level of empowerment for technical leads in the form of a Configuration Manager role. The Configuration Manager role within SAP Fieldglass  allows companies to establish technical super users who can access integration, system, and maintenance tools via a self-service dashboard.   These tools provide the selected users with many administrative actions they can execute independently, eliminating the need to open support cases with SAP Fieldglass for their implementation within their company.  The SAP Fieldglass Self-Service dashboard is available to a user that is designated as a technical super user – or Configuration Manager – by their associated company.  cases with SAP Fieldglass for their implementation within their company.  This role designates specific users access to the dashboard and should only be provided to knowledgeable and competent administrators for the associated company.   Once a user is identified, the company will require that an SAP Fieldglass Representative enable this association for the determined user.    After the role is created, a secondary user ID – and “linked” user account, will appear for that newly designated SAP Fieldglass user.  The user can then log in with their native user ID and link to the Config Manager role, or by logging in directly as the Config Manager with the associated credentials. After the Configuration Manager logs in, a welcome message appears on the Self-Service Dashboard, reflecting all the available actions across a multitude of color-coded tiles.   These tiles are colored specific to their given configuration category, which the user can then filter on to see a subset of actions for each subject.  The following categories can be seen within the dashboard:    Actions: (Config Managers can maintain allowed IP addresses, define internal references for defined native and custom fields, and create/edit Qualification elements for their company and suppliers) Analytics: (Allows assigned users ability to establish scheduled reporting activities and define delivery/endpoint details) Implementation Tools: (Provides config managers access to the implementation simulators available in FG) Integrations Tools: (This functionality allows the user to manage the integration connectors for their company, define integration end points, and load and implement certificates for integration authentication.   Using an intuitive wizard, users can enable/disable, edit, and manage connectors, as well as monitor the progress of file uploads and downloads, and troubleshoot issues if they arise) Partner Management: (This section on the Self-Service Dashboard allows the user to set up and manage integrations with third-party digital partners, such as OpenText Corporation, an Enterprise Content Management (ECM) application). Publish/Subscribe Framework: (Allows users to create a new API layer where they can build and customize payloads to obtain application data, define their subscription deliveries, and test/confirm connectivity with external systems) Rates: (This functionality allows for Rate Component and Rate Rule Management) Single Sign-On: (This element on the dashboard provides the manager a self-service Wizard to perform SSO-related administration and configuration actions independently for their company in SAP Fieldglass) The dashboard UI also provides the Manager with a “Create” button shortcut, that when utilized, provides a drop-down list of specific actions the user can select for immediate configuration tasks.   Lastly, a Connector Wizard button is also available on the Self-Service Dashboard, allowing users to immediately perform the most utilized Integration actions, launching a step-by-step wizard to enable and activate integration uploads or downloads required by the buyer.   Some of the main benefits of this user role and dashboard are: Client control of their technical configurations within SAP Fieldglass Greater Autonomy through removal of SAP Fieldglass support dependencies. Increased agility and maintenance capabilities as integrations needs change and evolve Increased visibility in formerly suppressed data elements Self service capabilities with a simply designed interface Make sure to reach out to an SAP Fieldglass representative for more information in enabling this super configuration feature for your designated users!!
