Configuring Alternative Payment Methods in Open Payment Framework for SAP Commerce Cloud

Hello, in this video, I will demonstrate how to configure alternative payment methods in OPF and explain how OPF handles different payment methods with varying functionality.  I will add PayPal as a new payment method to demonstrate.  OPF needs to be configured for different payment methods, as it needs to know exactly  how different payment settlements work with different payment methods.  For example, while PayPal allows refunding payments, some types of bank transfers do not.  OPF needs to recognize the type of payment method being used, and what the different settlement patterns look like for each of them.  To begin with, I'll activate PayPal and Link as payment methods in Stripe, the PSP for this demo.  If I now place an order, I have the option of choosing PayPal or Link to pay for my purchase, and I will select the former.  However, Open Payment Framework is so far only configured to accept card payments.  Switching to OPF, I can see that the transaction for this order is accepted, but there is no payment method attached.  Under Payment Integrations in the notification logs, I can see that PayPal was transmitted as the payment method, but OPF has not yet been configured to accept PayPal as an alternative to a credit card.  To set up OPF to handle PayPal payments, I open Alternative Payment Method, later abbreviated APM, and click the Create button.  I can now add basic information such as a name, code, and type of method I want to use.  The choices are a direct or a redirect type.  For this case, I will choose redirect, as for a PayPal payment, a user needs to be redirected off-site.  The PSP documentation shows us that PayPal supports features such as refunds and disputes, and I know that PayPal supports delayed capture.  This is important as I can confirm that the capture method for PayPal supports  multiple partial capture, and I can tick the refund-supported box.  I won't activate the reauthorization in this example.  OPF also gives me the option to change how this payment method is to be displayed on the storefront and to localize it if necessary.  But in this case I will simply stick to the label PayPal.  The last step before saving my setup is to assign this new payment method to the Stripe checkout configuration I have been using in these demos.  The payment integrations now show the new payment method.  I will use the same process to add Link, a Stripe specific payment option as another alternative payment method.  With the new payment methods configured, I now need to go to Payment Integrations and open the Stripe Checkout.  Under Configuration, I open the details to get to the configuration of notifications.  Here I need to map the codes for my new payment methods, remembering to save my changes.  It's now time to place another order on the SAP Commerce Cloud storefront.  I again have the option of choosing Link or PayPal, and will select the latter.  Then I switch back to OPF.  Just as last time, the transaction has been accepted, but now the payment method is displayed correctly.
