Configuring an SAP Service Cloud Version 1 Application for Customer Data Ingestion with SAP Customer Data Platform

Hello, and welcome to this video of integrating SAP Customer Data Platform  with SAP Service Cloud Version 1.   In this video, you will get an overview of the bi-directional integration  of the SAP Customer Data Platform  with SAP Service Cloud Version 1.   After this, we’ll configure the SAP Service Cloud Version 1 application and then configure the event  for customer data ingestion.   The integration with SAP Service Cloud  supports a bi-directional sync  between SAP Service Cloud  and SAP Customer Data Platform (CDP).   It ingests and stores individual customers  and support ticket data from SAP Service Cloud.  It also synchronizes customers  and creates new tickets in the SAP Service Cloud from CDP.   When an inbound event is executed,  CDP sends a polling request  to search for recently created  or modified records.   This polling request uses the data  to invoke the SAP Service Cloud API  to fetch the details.   When an outbound action is executed,  the CDP prepares the data  and sends it to the SAP Service Cloud.   In this video, we’ll be focusing on the Get Customers in Batch inbound ingestion.   Let’s configure the SAP Customer Data Platform connector  for SAP Service Cloud version 1.   Before setting up the connection,  we must first create a Communication System  for the SAP Customer Data Platform  host or domain.   In SAP Service Cloud Version 1,  Scroll down on the left side menu  and choose General Settings  under Administrator.  Scroll down to find the Integration section  and choose Communication Systems.   Choose the Communication System ID  and see the detailed configuration.   We also need to create a Communication Arrangement  for the OData Services for the Business Objects Communication Scenario in SAP Service Cloud version 1.   On the General Settings tab,  scroll down to the Integration section,  and choose Communication Arrangements.   Choose the Communication Arrangement  to see the detailed configuration.   Choose View All  on the top right corner  to see all the configurations.   In the Communication Arrangement,  we use the User ID and Password authentication method.  The User ID is automatically generated,  and we just need to enter a password.   You can also use the SSL Client Certificate  authentication method in your project.   Please make sure to assign the necessary OData services  like customer, contact, and product,  based on your specific project requirements.   Now in SAP Customer Data Platform,  go to Sources under Connect  and choose the Connect Application button.  It opens the Application Library  which shows all out of the box integrations  that are available for SAP CDP.   Here you can see SAP Service Cloud Version 1 integration  on the Sales and Services tab.  It supports both inbound data ingestion via events and outbound data activation via actions.  Choose Connect to create an application.  Enter a Name and turn on the Activated toggle.   Scroll down to see the authentication section.   Enter the User ID and password  copied from the Communication Arrangement  of SAP Service Cloud Version 1.   On the Configuration tab,  enter the tenant ID  of the SAP Service Cloud Version 1 system.   Then choose Create.   Back on the Sources screen,  click the Next button to open the new application.  On the source application screen,  we see two events are created  from the connector template.   We’re going to use the Get customers  in batch event to pull the individual customers  from SAP Service Cloud Version 1.   The events are not enabled by default, we need to configure and enable them.   Choose the three-dot menu  on the Get Customers in Batch event  and choose Edit.   On the Settings tab, you can modify the event name, choose a data type, and processing purposes.  Choose Next to go to the Model tab.   You can modify the existing standard fields  defined in the Connector template  or add additional fields.   Choose Next to go to the Matching Rules Mapping tab,   you can map the CustomerID field  on the event schema  on the left side to the crmId  on the profile schema on the right side.   You can optionally map the Email field  on the event schema  to the primaryEmail on the profile schema.   Choose Next to go to the Schema Mapping tab.  You can map all or part of the event schema fields to the profile schema fields.   If needed, you can add additional fields  to the profile schema to be mapped  to the event schema fields.   Choose Next to go to the Scheduled Polling tab   and choose Done.   Back on the Sources screen,  choose the three-dot button  on the Get customer in batch event  and choose Enable to activate the event.   To test the event,  you can use the event playground feature  to send an emulated event to SAP CDP.   To ingest the event from SAP Service Cloud Version 1, choose Ingest  from the three-dot button dropdown.   On the popup, pick a date in the past  and choose Start.   While events are being ingested,  you can monitor the process  by choosing the View Status  from the three-dot dropdown menu.   If the ingestions completed successfully,  go to Search under Customers  to see the customer profiles  on the customers dashboard.   You can choose any of the ingested profiles  to see the details.   This completes the customer data ingestion  from SAP Service Cloud Version 1.  Thank you for watching.
