Configuring Matrix Terms in SAP Ariba Guided Sourcing

This video will review creating matrix terms in SAP Ariba Guided Sourcing Events. Matrix pricing dimensions enable you to create a table of prices for an item or a lot. Matrix pricing creates copies of entries in an item table for items of lots, each with a different value for the matrix term. For example, suppose a particular commodity had separate pricing for different regions, rather than manually creating an individual item for each region. In that case, you can create one item for the commodity and then add a region term as a matrix dimension. To create matrix terms, create a line item for your project, then add a term. Create a new term on the add term page and enter the name. Response required must be set to yes, and event owner must respond. Participants cannot respond, or yes, an event owner must respond. Participants can optionally respond. The rule to make this a matrix term will be visible at the bottom. Project owners will see this field when the answer type is a text, short answer, number, decimal, percentage, and date. The acceptable values must be any value. The term cannot use participant-specific initial values. Save the term settings and return to the items that need quotes table. We will use the example of the different item pricing per region. We will name the term region and make it a matrix term. The initial value will be set to my location. We will add the other region options when we edit the matrix table. First, we will need to save an item with the matrix term, then copy the prototype item into the item that needs quotes table. We will want to change their names before going into the matrix. We can name them Category 1 and Category 2 in this example. We want to check the box next to both of the line item rows and Edit Matrix. We see our region matrix term, where we want to select the term and then add new values for the matrix term to the right. We choose Add, type in the second region location and save the value. The bottom table is where we will need to select which line items with the matrix term we want to add the new term to on a new line item. You can optionally select the View Matrix tab near the top of the page to see a preview of the items table with changed values, unchanged values, or new values.
