Configuring Site Settings in SAP Customer Data Cloud

Welcome! In this video, you’ll learn about Site Settings.   Site settings are the first set of configurations required to  implement Customer Identity projects.  We’ll cover adding trusted site URLs,  configuring a CNAME for your site,  and additional settings. Let’s get started!  Once logged into the console,  select the site or API key for which you want to configure site settings.   To access a site's Site Settings  from the Sites page of the console,  choose the three dots Action button.  Then, choose Site Settings  or select the Site name in the table.   The Trusted Site URLs section  displays allow-listed domains  for which you’ll use Customer Identity.   These are the URLs of any domain  your users interact with using Customer Data Cloud.   You must contact customer service  to add a new domain to this list.   For existing domains, asterisk characters  act as wild cards that allow you  to work on all subdomains and paths from the top-level domain.   If you only like to work on certain subdomains or paths,  you can delete the wildcard entry and add a specific entry.   In most cases, using the wildcard for subdomains and paths is recommended.   When a user decides to authenticate  through a social identity provider,  Customer Identity uses pop-up windows  and user redirects to enable that user to do so.   To accomplish this, they host a page  that handles that logic.   Social identity ensures there’s no malicious entity  by matching the pages being redirected to and from with the allow list, configured on  those respective social media applications.  Configuring a CNAME enables you  to mask that logic page behind the site's main domain  so social identity providers know there is no middleman.   Additionally, you can configure other settings  for your sites.   For example, the Additional Share URLs table  is a list of URLs that are approved for sharing purposes as part of the domain's allow list.  Custom URL shortening is  a Customer Data Cloud service  for shortening URLs  that you publish to social networks  using Customer Data Cloud's API.   The Redirect Method configures  the way your short URLs redirect  to the target URL.   The default redirect method  is JavaScript client-side redirect.   To save your settings when finished,  choose Save.   Thanks for watching!
