Creating a Named Job Posting in SAP Fieldglass

Did you know SAP Fieldglass offers an option to create a job posting named for a specific worker? When a company is procuring labor, the process is initiated with the creation of a job posting. The job posting describes the position to be filled by a new worker, lists the qualifications that the ideal candidate must have, and contains additional useful information that helps suppliers provide better service. But what if the company already has an ideal candidate in mind? In this scenario, a named job posting can be created. Named job postings allow the buyer company to create a job posting for a specific job seeker added to the supplier's workforce. The buyer company will browse all available candidates in the supplier's workforce and select one specific individual and create a named job posting. The job posting is then only sent to the supplier associated with a selected job seeker, and only that job seeker can be submitted to the named job posting. Let's say Mavis, one of WorkingNet's hiring managers, has an open position on her network engineering team for a network engineer and decided to bring on Lily Swanee, as they worked together previously. After checking the workforce list and finding Lily, Mavis goes ahead with creating the named job posting. Here's how Mavis will create the named job posting in the SAP Fieldglass application for Lily. From her homepage, Mavis selects Create and then selects Named Job Posting for Worker. This brings her to the Workforce List page. Since she already knows the name of the job seeker she wants to hire, she types in Swanee to search for the candidate by her last name. Mavis then selects Lily's Workforce ID to initiate the creation process. This brings Mavis to Lily's Candidate page, where Mavis can check information such as the candidate's availability, the resume, among others. With all information being verified, Mavis selects Create Named Job Posting. On the Create Job Posting page, some information will be defaulted by the system, such as the job posting owner, candidate's name, and currency. In the Select Source section, Mavis will select the role that Lily will have on the team. She selects Network Engineer from the list. In the details section, Mavis needs to enter the start and end date for Lily's position. Next, Mavis needs to select the site and location from the available drop-down lists. The business unit and cost center defaulted to Mavis' primary business unit and cost center, so she'll leave both as-is, and then she selects Submit. Now the named job posting for Lily Swanee is created and will undergo the normal approval process for the company. Choosing a candidate from the available workforce list is one way of determining the right one. But let's say that you worked with someone in the past, or on another project, or met someone that you think would be a great candidate, but they are not on the workforce list. In this case, the candidate can be added to a supplier workforce, if allowed by the supplier. And after the candidate is added, you can go ahead and create a named job posting as shown before. To be able to view the available workforce and create a new named job posting, the user role of the user creating the named job posting needs to have the workforce view and the job posting submit permissions enabled. Otherwise, the user will be unable to create a named job posting. Even though the creation process of a named job posting is a bit different from the regular job posting, the approval process is the same and is based on the job posting owner.
