Creating a Purchase Request in SAP Concur

Creating a Purchase Request You use purchase requests to obtain approval on upcoming purchases. These requests can become invoices which authorize suppliers to provide goods and services at specified prices. In the following example, you will see how to create a purchase request for office furniture. To begin, from the SAP Concur homepage, select the Home menu, and then select Requests. On the Request items tab, you will see your Pending Requests and Active Items. For this example, select Add New Item. The New Item fields are listed and the required fields are indicated with the red bar. First, select the Type drop-down arrow. Then select whether this item is for Goods or Services. For this example, select Goods. You are using a new vendor for this purchase request. Select the Request New Vendor link. In the Request New Vendor window, complete the required and optional fields. When you have completed all the appropriate fields, select Apply and then select OK. Note that a purchase request can contain several different vendors for specific line items. Multiple purchase orders will be generated based on the vendors that you specify. Next, select the Expense Type drop-down arrow, and then select Furniture and Fixtures. Continue entering the information such as the Description, Quantity, Unit Price, and the type of Currency. Select the Unit of Measure drop-down arrow. Depending on the goods you are requesting to purchase, you can change the Unit of Measure to automatically calculate the total based on the Quantity and Unit Price entered. For this example, select Each. Scroll down to continue entering the purchase request information. When you are finished entering all the information, select Save. Items pending a purchase request appear in the Cart Items section. After you have added all the items, you can create the purchase request. Select Request. And then, in the Purchase Details section, enter a Description for the request. Enter the Ship to Address and then select Save. After creating the purchase request, you can perform additional actions, such as adding an image and deleting or submitting the request. For this example, select Back to Previous Screen. Unsubmitted purchase requests appear in the Pending Requests section. Note that you can Copy or Delete pending requests by selecting the appropriate icons. Select the pending purchase request to open it. After you have entered all the Purchase Request details, select Submit. The purchase request is submitted for approval and now appears in the list of Active Items.
