Creating Actions - Customer Data Platform

In this video, we’ll create a new action for the destination application in the Actions feature of the SAP Customer Data Platform.   In the CDP console,  hover your mouse over the hamburger button  at the top-left corner.  Click on the “Destinations” menu  under the “Connect” section.   On the Destination dashboard,  a list of available applications  and performance metrics are displayed.   Select the Next arrow for the destination application you wish to connect to.   On the Settings tab, enter a name for the new action.   Select the actions category and the application processing purposes for this action.   Now you can enter a description.   Expand “Additional Settings”  to specify destination specific configurations:  In Write File Path, type-in “downstream/”  In Filename To Write, type-in “BookReaders.json”  And for File Format To Write, select json from the Format dropdown.   Click Save.   Now click ‘Create Node’ on the Model tab,  and on the General Properties tab  of the Create Attribute popup,   select the attribute type as string.   We’ll enter ‘firstName’ as the new attribute name.  This is the field name in the destination platform schema.   Now enter a name and description.   Follow the same approach  to add more attributes for “lastName” as string,   “primaryEmail” as string,   “gender” as string,   and “masterDataId” as Array of strings.   Click Save.   In the Mappings tab, map the action attributes to  the existing attributes in the customer schema,  which includes the profile or group entity, metadata, calculated activity indicators,  predictive activity indicators, processing purposes, activities, application configuration attributes.   Now drag and drop firstName  from the left side into the right side,  mapping the source profile schema attribute  into the action schema attribute.   Now we can map the lastName,  primaryEmail,  gender,  and masterDataId attributes.   And click save.   On the cdpdemo destination application screen,  click on the 3 dots button and select “Enable”  to enable the new action.   This completes the Actions demo.
