Creating an Amendment-type Amendment in SAP Ariba Contract Workspaces

An Amendment type amendment, also known as a Full Amendment, allows you to change any part of the contract, including contract amount, supplier, contract terms, and hierarchical type. This type of amendment can be performed on Contract Workspaces with an expiration date in the future and that are in Published or Closed status. Here we have a standalone contract workspace with the supplier Ariba Education for the commodity computer equipment and accessories in Germany. The contract amount is 30,000 US dollars. The contract Term Type is Fixed, which indicates it will expire permanently on the expiration date. To make a Full Amendment on your contract, go to the Overview tab. In the Contract Attributes section, choose Actions and select Amend. Next, choose Amendment as the type and describe the changes you are making and reasons for them. For the purposes of this video, we are going to change the Contract Amount and Term Type. Notice that the Contract Status has changed to Draft Amendment. This means that once you are done making the edits, you will have to republish the contract workspace. The Full Amendment mode releases all contract areas for editing. In the Contract Attributes area, we will change the contract amount from $30,000 USD to $35,000 dollars. The next change we'll make is to change the contract Term Type from Fix to Auto Renew. and set a renewal schedule of maximum two renewals, each of 12 months. Now that we've made the necessary changes, return to the Overview tab. In the Contract Attributes section, choose Actions and then select Publish. Notice the message displayed at the top of the screen warning us the workspace cannot be published when there are incomplete required tasks. This happens because contract administrators have set up an amendment approval task for the contract workspace whenever an amendment requires the republishing of the workspace. This is a standard occurrence in the life cycle of a contract, and it is best practice for administrators to create approval tasks whenever main elements of the contract are changed. As soon as the task is approved, the amended version of the contract workspace can be published. Continue learning to find out more about contract workspace amendments. Thank you for watching.
