Creating Position Groups in SAP SuccessFactors Incentive Management

Hello and welcome. In this video, I'll show you how to create and use position groups in SAP SuccessFactors Incentive Management. Position groups allow you to run calculation for a subset of positions. Once you create a position group, you can then assign specific positions to it. Once you've assigned your positions, you can then select the position group when you run a calculation. This will run the calculation for only the positions in that group. This allows you to run different sets of positions at different times in the period. For example, you may want to compensate positions in the USA and Canada on the 1st and 15th of the month and compensate positions in Europe only on the 1st. Let's start by creating a position group called PG_Americas. Starting from the home page, I'll select Global Values, Position Groups. I'll use the Create icon to create a new Position Group. I'll enter the name and accept the default business unit. Then I'll select Create. Now I can assign as many positions as I need to the Position Group. I can do this individually, or I can use the Edit Selected Fields icon to set the value on multiple records. I'll select three of the positions. Then I'll select the Edit Selected Fields icon. I'll set the field name to Position Group,  and set the value to PG_Americas. I'll select Update, and when prompted, I'll select Acknowledge. Now let's see how I can run a calculation that only processes positions in the PG_Americas Position group. In the Run menu, I'll select Pipeline. Then I'll select Compensate and Pay. I'll leave all the settings on the first two pages at the default, and select Next. On the Transactions and Positions page,  I'll select Positions, Position Groups, or Titles. I'll select the Position Groups radio button, open the selection window, and select PG_Americas. When the calculation runs, only payments for the three positions I assigned to the group are created. In addition to running compensate and pay, you can also run the post and finalize process by position group. In this video, we covered position groups. We saw how a position group is created, and how to run compensate and pay for a single position group in the user interface.
