Creating Sourcing Analytical Reports within SAP Ariba Sourcing

In this video, you will learn how to create an SAP Ariba analytical report based on reporting facts containing sourcing project data. You must have the appropriate permissions to create reports. For information about the user groups that grant access to reporting functionality, see the Strategic Sourcing and Supplier Management Group descriptions guide in the SAP Help Portal. We will demonstrate how to create an analytical report based on sourcing projects. Choose create, analytical report on the dashboard to create a new analytical report. The three-step analytical report creator will appear. After titling the report, we must first define our source data when we choose the main fact. What are some of the common facts that are used to capture sourcing activities? In most sourcing scenarios, the facts relate to sourcing projects or contain the words event or sourcing. A lot of reportable information on sourcing projects comes from data on the project header fields, the project task information, and various project attributes. The event data is not collected in this fact, but can be selected as a secondary fact if needed. When the sourcing project is chosen as the main fact, the measures in the predefined list show actual savings amounts, baseline spend, contract months, duration, project count, and target savings percentage. These measures will pull either the savings totals, the number of projects, the duration, or contract months from all qualifying sourcing projects in the system. The secondary and third facts are optional and dependent on the main fact. Event level summary is a fact with different measures that summarize the events details. The event facts can contain measures like bid counts, the number of questions, invited suppliers, contract months, and total spending. Suppose we have an event owner who has left the company. We need to run a report to find all active projects by status owned by this user to reassign ownership. In that case, the sourcing project would be our main fact with the project count as the data. The pivot layout step allows us to add fields and hierarchies as page fields or as rows, columns, or details within the report results. The fields are alphabetically listed to add to our report. We can add commodity, on time/ late, project type state, and owner (user) in the page fields. The column fields can be the due date. We want to see the projects listed as rows, so we will choose project name. Within the details, of each row returned. Let's see the start date, status, state, and owner. The refined data step is where we can specify the parameters of our filters. The due date is the only required field indicated by an asterisk. This will determine the reports range. The supplementary fields help us narrow our scope. To see all active projects owned by the departed user, we can input their name in the owner filter and the state filter as active. Fortunately, there is a prepackaged report for this, so you do not need to create this scenario manually. Instead, you can access the pre-packaged report, refine the filters, and run the report to view the results.
