Customizing the SOW Dashboard with Layout Manager in SAP Fieldglass

The Layout Manager functionality within SAP Fieldglass allows administrators to create home page layouts and associate them to user roles. This feature also supports specific customization of the SOW Dashboard display for specific user roles, providing users with specific personalized content that enhances their day-to-day productivity and management of service-related operations. The home page of SAP Fieldglass is a critical starting point for managing operational items and completing activities. Within recent releases, SAP Fieldglass introduced the Layout Manager functionality, which allows administrators to further customize the default home page to reflect specific data sets and activities by module or category. For example, a custom homepage layout specific for hiring managers could be created that reflects specific worker information and work items that require their more immediate attention and action. Layouts for leadership or finance teams may reflect generated dashboards or reports for quick access and visibility when looking for status updates or spending highlights. In addition to customizing the homepage with the Layout Manager, it can also be used to customize users' views of the SOW Dashboard. When creating a new layout, administrative users will initially select a layout type, which is either homepage or SOW Dashboard. Both layout types require cards to be selected for display in the UI, which can be rearranged as seen fit for the layout configuration. Let's take a look at WorkingNet's program office where Mateo works. He currently has a customized homepage layout, but now he and the rest of the PMO team want to customize their view of the SOW Dashboard.  Here is how Mateo uses the Layout Manager functionality to customize the SOW Dashboard layout specifically for his team. Mateo lands on his custom homepage once he logs in. To begin customizing the SOW Dashboard layout, Mateo goes to the Admin menu and scrolls to the Configuration section to select the link for Layout Manager. Within the Layout Manager list page, Mateo notices a PMO layout exists and selects that. Mateo can see the details of the layout, with the banner color, selected cards, and the user roles associated to this layout. To begin creating a new layout for the SOW Dashboard, Mateo selects New at the top of the page. Mateo is prompted to enter a name for the new layout and then he selects the type SOW Dashboard from the type drop-down. Next, he chooses the cards he wants to add to the custom SOW Dashboard layout and then selects Add. Once finished, he sees that no user roles are associated, so he selects the association tile and then selects Add at the top. Mateo is presented with a list of available user roles, and since a user role can only have one associated layout, he selects the available Program Office role before finally selecting Add. To check that the new customized SOW layout looks as expected, Mateo navigates to the Services menu and selects Dashboard, where he can review his newly crafted layout specific to the PMO user role. When utilizing the Layout Manager for the SOW Dashboard, it's important to consider each individual user role can only have one associated layout for the SOW Dashboard. If one is already assigned, it will need to be unassigned before the user role can have a new one associated. By understanding the purpose and benefits of the Layout Manager functionality, you are now equipped to create personalized and efficient workspaces for different user roles. More importantly, you have flexibility to create custom displays specifically for the SOW Dashboard when looking to better manage service procurement within SAP Fieldglass.
