Customizing the User Interface in SAP Incentive Management

Hello and welcome! In this video, I'll demonstrate how to customize the SAP Incentive Management User Interface. Incentive Management includes default fields for records in different workspaces, which are sufficient to perform many types of calculations. However, in many cases, your organization may need to customize or create new fields to meet specific business needs. Users with the appropriate permissions can activate or deactivate fields in a workspace., Add new custom fields, also known as generic attributes, Relabel the existing fields in generic attributes, and finally, indicate whether a field contains personally identifiable information (PII) or not PII, to comply with data privacy regulations. These actions are performed in the Customizations workspace. Let's consider an example. To meet our business needs, we need to change the name of the Participants workspace to Sales Reps. We also need to deactivate the Prefix and Tax ID fields on the Participant record. And finally, we need to add two custom fields, Sales Status and Bonus Level. From the Manage Setup tile, I'll select Preferences, Customizations. Then, from the organization menu, I'll select the Participants workspace. I'll start by changing the name of the workspace. To do this, I'll change both the display name and the plural name to Sales Rep and Sales Reps. Some fields are required by the system and cannot be deactivated. In this workspace, the active checkbox is grayed out. To deactivate the Prefix and Tax ID fields, I'll simply uncheck the active checkboxes. These fields are now deactivated and won't appear in the Participants workspace. To activate the two generic attributes, I'll scroll down to the Generic Attributes section. Sales Status is a text field, so for this, I'll activate Generic Attribute 1. Then I can customize the label by entering Sales Status in the custom value field. Bonus Level is a numeric field, so I'll scroll down to the generic number fields and activate Generic Number 1. Then I'll enter Bonus Level in the Custom Value field. Then I'll save the changes. Incentive Management has four types of generic attributes. 16 generic text, 6 generic number, 6 generic date, and 6 generic Boolean fields. If you need to add more fields, you can use the Add/Remove Extended Attributes icon to add as many of each type of field as you need. Using extended attributes does affect system performance, so we recommend you activate all the generic attributes before activating extended attributes. Once you have activated generic attributes, you can maintain your system's compliance with data privacy regulations by indicating whether the contents of the field are personally identifiable information (PII), sensitive PII, or not PII. Examples of PII would include fields that contain a street address, phone number, or email. Now let's see how I can arrange my custom fields in the workspace. I can rearrange both the Summary view and the Detail view. Returning to the Participants workspace, I see that it's now been renamed to Sales Reps. Let's move the Sales Status field to the space before the name in the Summary view. I'll select Configure Summary View, then drag the Sales Status up, and drop it above the first name. Then I'll select Apply. I'd also like to move the Bonus Level before the Sales Status in the participant details. I'll select one of the sales reps, then expand the Details pane, where I'll select the Configure Detail view. I'll drag the Sales Status field to the right of the Bonus Level, then select Apply. Now in the Custom Fields section, I can see that the order of the two fields has changed. In this video, I showed you a few ways you can customize the user interface in SAP Incentive Management. Thanks for watching!
