Determining Party Role in SAP Sales Cloud

In this video, I'm going to demonstrate how a party role is determined. First, I log into the system as an administrator to set up some project details. I select the Implementation Projects tab within the Business Configuration workspace. I'm going to click on the Open Activity List tab for creating a new party role. This activity is already listed in the project. I click on the Party Role Definition hyperlink. Here, you'll see that SAP provides several party roles from its database. I am going to add two more rows to the table. In one row, I will create a key sales employee. I'll also mark it as a responsibility role by selecting the checkbox and then click on save and close. To make sure that the key sales employee is shown as a part of the deal whenever an opportunity is open, I'm going to first search for opportunities within the search bar. I'll click on the Opportunities hyperlink, then click on Maintain Involved Parties to make sure that the key sales employee is in fact part of the process. I will add a row and select Key Sales Employee within the party row column. After that, I select the checkbox within the internal column and make sure that the checkbox for the active column is also selected. To maintain rules for the key sales employee, I'll click on the Maintain Determinations button. I will activate the Use Rules for Key Sales Employee row. This is going to be a part of the sales strategy. Then I click on Save and Close. To test, we're going to assign a user as a key sales employee for one of the accounts. I click on the customer's work center and open accounts. Here, I am going to search for an account, Boston Cycles, and select it. Then I click on the account team facet. Here, I'll click on Add to add another member for the Account Team. I'll select Key Sales Employee from the drop-down menu, under the Party Role section, and enter a name, and I'll click on Save. Now I'll create a business role for whenever an opportunity is created and this party role is defined in the Account Team. It will appear in the Opportunity Sales team involved. To do that, I'll select the Administrator Work Center and click on the Sales and Campaign Settings tab. Here, I will click on the Define Rules for Opportunity Parties hyperlink. I am going to add a row to the table. I'll select opportunity as a document type and select an account in the account ID column. I'll enter equal for select operator and Boston cycles for value. At the end of the row, I will select the key sales employee from the drop-down menu. Alternatively, I could have left the account field with the asterisk value and this would apply to all accounts. Once the rule is created, I can even change the sequence. Here, I will click on swap to swap the columns. Then I'm going to activate this rule change by clicking on the action tab and select activate rules. I will close this tab and log out of the system. Then I'll log in again as a sales representative to test this. Now I'm going to create an opportunity with the account where I have previously added the key sales employee. I want to make sure that the key sales employee is mentioned in the opportunity involved parties. After logging in, I'll create an opportunity. I will add a name and will reference the account. I will also give an expected value of the opportunity, then I click on save and open. Now I can add the key sales employee, Edward Becker, to the sales team. I'll save. And we can now see both roles.
