Drafting Events within SAP Ariba Guided Sourcing Full Projects

This video demonstrates how to create a new sourcing event within a guided sourcing full project. Project owners can use the events that their full project inherits from the project template or add additional non-template events from the Events and Other Documents panels create menu. First, we will go through how a member of the category buyer group can create an event inherited from a project template. Typically, the template that is selected when creating a project automatically adds the appropriate events to the project's workflow in the Events and Other Documents table. Project owners then create, edit, publish, and award these events as the project progresses. Template questions and conditions can make event document choices appear so the project owner knows when to create the events and where the events fit within the overall project workflow. This is an example of a template question triggering the availability of an event placeholder by answering yes to, will you be creating an RFI? The project draft will include a task and document choice as a placeholder for the event. The event name can be selected to begin drafting the event. An associated task often comes along with the event, found in the Tasks panel, depicting when the project owner should start drafting the event. Now, we will create an ad-hoc event instead of using a placeholder from the template. If the project template has event template documents configured for reuse, the Events and Other Documents panel's Create menu allows you to add a new event to the project by selecting Create, Document, and then choosing Sourcing Event. When adding a new event to a guided sourcing project using this method, the project owner must choose a template from any guided sourcing event template specified for use within the full project template. The name, event type, and template are all required fields to draft the event. The document will then appear in the Events and Other Documents panel, where the project owner will specify the duration, rules, participants, and ad content that collects information about the goods and services, such as pricing and product specifications.
