Welcome, everyone, to our SAP Extended Warehouse Management release update video. In this video, you will explore and learn about advanced shipping and receiving capabilities in SAP S/4 HANA Cloud, Private Edition 2025 Feature Pack Stack Zero. Today, I'm presenting the change management for LE outbound deliveries in an advanced shipping and receiving ASR scenario, specifically when the outbound delivery has already been distributed to extended warehouse management and transportation management. In real outbound execution, changes after distribution are common like quantity updates, timing adjustments, packing and loading updates, or transportation constraints. The challenge is that once the delivery is distributed, warehouse execution and transportation planning are already in progress. Without controlled change handling, this can lead to inconsistencies between logistic execution, extended warehouse management, and transportation management, additional manual reconciliation, dock disruptions, and more exception handling. Therefore, changes must be handled in a controlled way to protect End-to-End consistency. The graphic illustrates the advanced shipping receiving outbound architecture and change control logic across logistics execution, extended warehouse management and transportation management in SAP S/4 HANA Cloud Private Edition. An outbound delivery in LE is distributed to EWM, creating warehouse execution objects such as the warehouse request, warehouse order, and warehouse tasks, and to TM, creating transportation objects such as freight units and freight orders. After distribution, changes in the outbound delivery are no longer unrestricted. Some updates can be saved only with EWM approval. Others require both EWM and TM approval. and certain fields are blocked completely to protect end-to-end consistency during shipping and receiving execution. The business challenge, enable change management of logistic execution, outbound deliveries for advanced shipping and receiving after distribution to EWM and TM. Introduce integrated change management to ensure object consistency. Outbound deliveries and freight units allow to be changed. It's important to note that we do not open the outbound delivery for unrestricted changes. SAP distinguishes between fields that cannot be changed at all and a controlled set of fields that are allowed after distribution. And once the final delivery is created, no further changes are permitted to safeguard process consistency. Let's check how it works in the system. Now let's look at a short system demonstration to illustrate the feature I just introduced. Here we have an outbound delivery that was created. As you can see, it is already warehouse relevant and distributed. The distribution status is here. Even though it's distributed, some attributes are still changeable at this stage, for example, ENCO terms, reference information, and selected transport-related fields. Now let's switch to the warehouse monitor. I'm searching for the document using the Logistics Execution Delivery Reference. We see an EWM monitor that status of this document is blocked. If we look at the document flow, we can confirm that the freight unit has already been created successfully. For reference, note the freight unit quantity at this point. it is one each we are in a transportation driven scenario so the outbound delivery order is still blocked at the moment in this example i update the quantity from one to two and i save the change now the change is propagated consistently to the connected execution objects in transportation management the freight unit reflects the update the quantity is now two each and related values are adjusted accordingly. It's also worth mentioning that this works together with order reduction capabilities, where quantity changes can be triggered on sales order and then propagated across the delivery, the extended warehouse management delivery order, and the freight unit. Next, I create a freight order and assign the freight unit to it. I insert the freight unit using the base document reference. This document can be found in Items tab, Insert based on the outbound delivery. The freight unit is now planned and consolidated within the freight order. So at this moment, for example, in the system, I can now put in the information. In General Data tab in Transportation like Carrier. After that, I go back to Overview and checking the list of documents. next on the right side searching for option and now i process the freight order and set it to ready for execution and i hand over the transportation consolidation to extended warehouse management by updating the warehouse processing status back in ewm this handover unblocks the outbound delivery order. As you can see, the document is now ready to continue with warehouse execution. At this point, some fields may still be changeable, but the scope becomes more restricted as execution progresses. For example, the delivery quantity is no longer changeable because it would impact consistency across extended warehouse management and transportation management. Similarly, key dates such as the delivery date are restricted once execution reaches the next stages. The principle is simple. Allow safe changes where possible, but restrict critical fields to prevent process disruptions. So let's have a look which fields are locked and which are allowed to be changed. Now I create the first warehouse task for picking. This is the point where no further changes should be possible because warehouse execution has started. For demonstration purposes, I confirm the warehouse task. By clicking warehouse order in search, confirm warehouse order in background. Now we see statues warehouse documents. At the end of this process, I set ready for shipping status for my outbound delivery order. In summary, this feature enables controlled flexibility for changes after distribution while still protecting end-to-end consistency across logistics execution, extended warehouse management, and transportation management. And it complements order reductions because quantity updates can be managed centrally and propagated through the logistics process. From a business perspective, the value is clear. Fewer exceptions and escalations through controlled, validated post-distribution changes across LE to EWM to TM.
