Fixing Errors Using the Monitoring Dashboards in SAP Customer Data Platform

Do you want to learn how to monitor your data ingestions and fix any errors that might occur? With the SAP Customer Data Platform Monitoring Dashboard, you can do just that. This is Lisa. She's a marketer for the online coffee retailer GalloDoro. She would like to run a marketing campaign targeting all her contacts that have registered with the GalloDoro website in the past month. Lisa's company uses SAP Customer Data Cloud's identity provisioning with the GalloDoro website, and she would like to import the registered customers she has collected in her Customer Data Cloud system into SAP Customer Data Platform. To do so, Lisa will use the SAP Customer Data Cloud source connector, which she has already configured in her SAP Customer Data Platform environment. Lisa uses the Get Full Accounts in Batch event and selects the beginning of the previous month to capture all the new contacts. To see if her ingestion was successful, Lisa navigates to the monitoring dashboard and checks the Events table to see the ingestion results. Uh oh, it seems that there was an error with the ingestion. In this session, Lisa clicks on her Get Full Accounts in Batch event from the Events table to review the error. Hmm, authentication error. Lisa clicks on the error message for more information. When clicking on the error, Lisa is given the suggestion to review the credentials used in her SAP Customer Data Cloud Connector. So Lisa navigates to the connector, re-enters her credentials, and runs the ingestion again. Lisa then navigates to the monitoring dashboard again to review her second ingestion. Uh-oh, the ingestion still was not successful. Instead of a failure, it seems this time her contacts were discarded. So this time, she goes back to her source connector and checks her event configuration to review the assigned required processing purposes. Ah, there's the problem. The incorrect processing purposes has been assigned. Lisa should have assigned the marketing purpose. Lisa then tries the ingestion a third time and checks the monitoring dashboard again. Success! Lisa has imported tons of new customers that she can use in her next marketing campaign.
