How To Create A Validation Rule HRH65 -  S/4HANA Cloud - Professional Services

Good morning everyone. This session is part of the HRH65 course and speaks about the creation of a validation rule. The business requirement related to that validation rule is to detect all the net amounts lower than one thousand euro. And we have also to display the gross amount, the total retroactive adjustment and net amount for sure detected. To create a validation rule, we use the new manage configuration app that is visible here. To start, we select the validation rules and we click on the Plus to initiate the process of creation. Then we click on that button to get the result in a larger screen. First of all, we give it an ID. The training low net amount for examples. And we give a name similar, low net amount. Because we base our exploration upon the payroll result, we need to select a validation rule type based that works on that kind of result. We select the SBP, VRT, gross and net. Because we work on an example based upon the USA, we select USA. And in the system, in terms of icon, we don't need anymore. We don't need to select anything. We leave that that zone free for the time being and we focus on the data sections. First of all, we have to create a data section that extract all the data, all active employees. And we take that information for all, for the current payroll period. We select the payroll period. And we say that is payout is equal to the current payroll pay out. We then select some information like, for example, the employee group, employees subgroup, and maybe other information like the company code and so on. Then we create a new data section for selecting the employees with a net amount. We do select the B, E T, R, G for the amount from the RT table. And for the current payroll period, we select which type. Then we select which type. Which is like this. And the net is slash 560. Then we create a new data section. to extract the gross. Again, the BETRG amount, some of the hr payroll amount. Then again, payroll period is equal to the current payroll amount. Then we select which type, which is /101, the total gross. We still have to create one data section. For the net adjustment. And we again select an amount and we extract as usual, the payroll period. Again equal to the current payroll period. And now which type is equal to slash 110, net payment and deductions. I can activate already what I did so far. And I edit again the result. I extend. And now I go to the definition of the alert. I've done to define a function. If, that says that, the net selected, if the net selected is lower or equal, let's say, than one thousand euro then my condition is true. Else my condition is false. My condition is built as a key indicator. I'm going to display the net amount. Because, it's what we select. It's good to display it in the net amount. That net amount is extracted here. Net amount. And in the text I'm going to write net amount in the detail, line one, I'm going to write the threshold. I used, which is one thousand euro and then I'm going to display the gross. I extracted the amount. So here I select the gross in my list to be here. Then we're going to display the net adjustment like this. And I insert the value coming from my data section, here, no that's not the right one, yes thats correct. I can activate, And I can even have a first preview. I select my training process and I show the result. And I can expand what I did so far. And I'm quite glad I see that amounts are there. Okay. Let's continue with the solutions. What do I want to get as a solution so I edit, And I go to the solution. I can select some solutions from the system. For example, I can display. I can jump to the people profile. I can also review the, add a link to the documentation. It's always interesting. Then I've also the root cause analysis. I have, I can, for example, add the payslip of the employee. I can also add payslip off last months. If there is, I activate. And I can know again on my preview, as you can see, I get something quite good. I have my people profile and a link to the documentation is good. We will see later on in another micro service lesson the result within the process. Thank you for attending.
