How to Create and Customize a Dashboard in Dynatrace- SAP Commerce

Hello, my name is William. In this video, you’ll learn how to create, customize, and delete dashboards in Dynatrace. Start by selecting Dashboards in the side navigation bar. A list appears, showing all previously created or shared dashboards. To create a new dashboard, click Create dashboard in the top-right corner. Give the dashboard a name and click Create to access edit mode. Edit the dashboard to define the relevant data you want to collect. To do this, search for required metrics using the tile catalog in the side panel. You can search either by typing a specific name in the search box, or by searching for tiles using their category type. If the required metric doesn’t exist, you can create custom charts. In this example, we are going to create a dashboard that collects various important metrics that you can use for daily monitoring. First, add a Header to arrange the tiles into sections.  The Quick Overview section summarizes current issues, network status, host- and database health. Depending on the metric type, you can configure additional settings in the side panel. For each metric, set the timeframe to 24 hours. As you can see, it’s easy to reposition the tiles and change their size according to your requirements. Now, add memory and CPU metrics for the hosts. These are not in a tile catalog, so you’ll need to create a custom chart. Drag and drop the tile onto the canvas and click Configure Custom Chart.  Then add CPU metrics to suit the hosts. Here, you can change the chart type and aggregation. Leave these settings for now and modify the view type at the top of the page. Select the Update Dashboard tile to save the changes, and then repeat the steps to create a memory chart. To modify the metrics, click on the tile to open a settings panel to the right. There’s also an option to clone or delete the tile. Finally, add one more tile to collect data for the most used third-party providers. In the settings panel, choose an application and the metrics you want to use to monitor it. Once you’ve finished, click Done to save the dashboard. Your dashboard is now ready to be used! To edit the dashboard, click the More options icon and select Edit. You can also Clone or Share the dashboard with someone else or Delete it if it’s no longer required. For more information about dashboard features, visit the Dynatrace Support Center. I hope you enjoyed this tutorial. Thanks for watching!
