How to Create and Manage Work Center Groups - SAP S/4HANA Cloud for Manufacturing

Hello and welcome to this microlearning for SAP S/4HANA Cloud for manufacturing on how to create or manage work center groups. My name is Subhashree Sahoo and I am working in the area of manufacturing consulting for SAP S/4HANA Cloud. In this microlearning, we will go through the overall demo flow and the system demo for the master data. The overall demo consists of three segments. Those are master data, demand and MRP, and capacity planning. In this microlearning, we are going to focus on the master data segment. For the concept of work center groups, please refer to the microlearning introduction to work center groups from this series. Before we commence the demo, here is the sample product structure which is used for the scenario in this microlearning. We have a finished product, a semi-finished product, four work centers and a work center group. Now let's kick start with the system demo. We will start with the master data using app manage work center groups which can be accessed via business role for production engineers that is PRODN_ENG_DISC. Let's step into the app manage work center groups. In the landing page, we can find the already created work center groups, descriptions, object types, group types, which we had a quick glance in the microlearning on the fundamentals of work center groups, plants, number of work centers which are assigned to the groups and in the where used column system indicates the assignment of a higher group. The higher group can be shown just by clicking on it. Here in the drill down, we can see the number of work centers and the groups belonging to the work center groups. We can go to the details by clicking on the chevron. The detail page consists of firstly the group components where it shows the object types such as work center. Secondly, it shows the assigned work centers. Thirdly, it shows the various higher work center groups. The navigation tree on the left side also shows groups and work centers as shown here. Let's move to the higher group by clicking on the chevron. Here we can see the group as an object as well. Due to assignment of another group, system populates those work centers which are part of the subgroup. The same is evidently visible on the tree as well. Let's create a work center group by naming it as assembly group. A description. Choosing the group type as alternative for the demo. Choose the plan and click on Create. The group is immediately created and also visible on the navigation tree for work center groups. We can assign work centers to this group by selecting work center, assembly 4 and test 4. Now system shows the assignment. To assign work center groups, let's go back to the higher group WCG-A and assign the newly created group. System also populates the work centers under the high group which are part of the newly created group. Here we can see the newly created WorkCenter group and in the section below we can see the corresponding work centers. We can unassign the group from the higher group. We can unassign the work center from the group.  And we can delete the group as well. Now we are back to the landing screen which doesn't show the new group. Let's recap the key learnings. In this microlearning, we learned how to create and manage work center groups using the app Manage Work Center Groups.
