How to Manage Endpoints in the Cloud Portal- SAP Commerce Cloud

Hello, my name is William, and in this video I’ll demonstrate the process of adding, editing, and removing endpoints in SAP Commerce Cloud Portal. Without endpoints, no one can access the code that’s been deployed. Here, I’m logged into Commerce Cloud Portal as a Customer System Administrator. I’ll navigate to the Environments page where I have a list of all my applications and any environments I’ve created. First, I’ll select the environment for which I wish to create endpoints. I now see details of my environment, including any endpoints that have been created. Since I am interested in creating a new endpoint, I’ll click the "Create" button. To create an endpoint, I first give it a descriptive title that will make it obvious to any administrator what the endpoint is for. I need to provide a domain, which can be HTTP or HTTPS. The "Web Proxy" value has been automatically filled, and it is set to the default Apache proxy address. I’ll then select the "Service" to which the endpoint will point. If my domain uses HTTPS, I can select the SSL Certificate to secure my endpoint. Finally, I can set the "Proxy Timeout" value, which specifies the amount of time the web server will wait before disconnecting from my Commerce application. For now, I’ll leave this field blank so that the default value of 180 seconds will be applied. Now, I’ll click the "Next" button. On this screen, I have the option to select the "IP Filter Sets" that apply to this endpoint. IP Filter Sets enable you to manage endpoint access. First, I have to decide whether to start by allowing or denying all requests to my endpoint. From there, I select the IP filter sets I set up previously that filter the IPs I don’t want to access my endpoint. In this example with my storefront, I’ve decided to "Allow all" by default and then use an IP filter range that denies requests from all countries in which I do not operate. I’ll proceed to the next page. Here, I can add static files to my endpoint, such as sitemaps, customer error responses, or search configurations. Finally, it's possible to enable web caching by adding a specific URI in this field. When done, I’ll click "Create" to return to my Environments page. I now have a storefront endpoint that is secured and accessible to any person from the countries in which my site operates. I can edit it by clicking on the endpoint name. Or, if I no longer need the endpoint, I can choose "Delete Endpoint", which can be found by clicking on the "More Options" icon. This is the end of this tutorial. Thank you for watching!
