Implementing Lite Registration for SAP Customer Data Cloud

Welcome to this video on Lite Registration  for SAP Customer Data Cloud.   In this video, you will get an overview  of Lite Registration,  its key features, and use cases,  followed by a demonstration of a Lite account creation  and its progression to a full account.   Lite Registration is a way for users  to engage with your site and content without registering  with a full account,  using only their e-mail address and no password.  Upon entering Lite Registration,  a unique UID is assigned to the user.  If they decide to complete the registration  using the same e-mail, this identical UID  can seamlessly transition the Lite registration  into a Full registration.   Lite registration features include the following:  Out-of-the-box lite registration screens  that can be highly customized using SAP Customer Data Cloud’s UI Builder.  Clear opt-in and opt-out flows  for complying with privacy regulations.  Improved quality of data,  which means it is preserved when users convert  from lite registrations to fully registered accounts.  Increased user satisfaction, that is,  all user data is saved right from the start.  Full support for exporting and importing subscriber data to third-party platforms.   And support for giving Lite users complete control of their data  using the Lite Preferences Center.   Here are four basic terms  for the Lite Registration process.  A Lite account is created  when a visitor completes a Lite Registration flow  without authentication.  A Full account is created when the user registers with a social identity or creates a password for your website,  completing the Full Registration flow.   An Email Account is a view of full or lite accounts based on their identifiers.   Data is merged from full accounts  or lite registrations  into these e-mail accounts, not vice versa.   Subscription Object: Stores subscription data  for a designated mailing list.   Lite Registration is often the first step  in building a trust-based relationship  between your site and the site users.   You can use Lite Registration for newsletter sign-up flows and promotions  and a lead generation tool in any scenario  where users can submit their emails without registering.   These include contest participation,  indirect sales, online polls, campaigns, document access, and Wifi.   Now, we will demonstrate  the creation of a lite account with double opt-in and automatic progression  to a full account that requires registration completion.   In the console, choose Connect  from under the Identity menu.   Then select the Self Registration tab.   Under Account progression  choose the Automatic progression option.   Next, choose Accounts Schema  from under the Advanced menu.   Let’s create a new subscription field.  Choose Create Field.  Select Subscription as the Type.   Enter “weeklyDigest” as the Field Name.   And then choose Create.   Set the the option Required Double Opt-In.  Then choose Save Changes.   Now, we are going repeat that step  to create a new string data field  called “newsletterTopics”.   Select the Required option   choose Save Changes.   Choose UI Builder  under the User Interfacing menu.   Choose the Default-LiteRegistration screen-set.   Select the Weekly newsletter checkbox.   In the Checkbox Properties under Mapped Field, go to Subscriptions, weeklyDigest, email, and select isSubscribed.   Choose Save  and then Save Version.   Choose Preview to create a new account.  Enter a name, last name and an email account,  that can be used to confirm your subscription  as this subscription is set as double opt-in.   Choose Sign Up.   Now let’s confirm the subscription.   Back in the console, choose Profile  under Identity Access.   You can see that a new lite account record was created by the “L” icon on the right.   Select the record to enter the profile screen.  Choose the Preferences section.  We can already see that the weeklyDigest option has the status set to Opted In.   Let’s go back to the UI Builder  under the User interfacing menu.   Choose Default-RegistrationLogin ScreenSet,   then select the Registration Completion screen  in the dropdown.   Drag and drop a textbox component  onto the screen.   Change the mapped field property  to select the data field newsletterTopics  and enter a Label.  Choose Save  and then Save Version.   Select the Registration screen. from the dropdown.  Choose Preview.  Let’s create an account with the same data  used for the lite one, except now we’ll enter a password.   Submit the form and the Registration Completion screen  will automatically appear with the required field  where you can enter your preferred topics.   Choose Submit.   Let’s go back to Profiles under Identity Access.   You can now see the lite account record  has been progressed to registered,  with the “R” icon on the right,  which means that it is now a full account.   Select the record to see the newsletterTopics field supplied with the data  you’ve just entered.   This concludes
